Role Description
The Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Edinburgh, responsible for driving sales performance and managing customer relationships for timber and building products. This position involves:
- Leading and coaching the sales team
- Setting targets
- Monitoring performance
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction

- Responding to customer enquiries
- Preparing quotes
- Negotiating pricing
- Coordinating with warehouse and logistics teams to fulfill orders efficiently

The role includes:
- Identifying new business opportunities

- Supporting marketing and promotional activities to grow revenue
The Sales Manager will also:
- Analyze sales data
- Prepare reports
- Collaborate with leadership to refine sales strategies and product offerings
Competitive Salary

Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales management, preferably within timber, builders merchants, or construction-related sectors.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage both trade and public accounts.
- Solid understanding of sales processes, including lead generation, quoting, negotiation, and closing.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team, including setting goals and providing performance feedback.
- Competence in using sales and inventory systems, basic data analysis, and preparing sales reports.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with clear, professional spoken and written English.
- Good organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail in pricing, orders, and documentation.
- Knowledge of timber and building materials, or a strong willingness to learn product ranges quickly.
- Experience in an on-site retail, trade counter, or merchant environment is advantageous.
