Department Manager | Amazing Showroom | £32-35k Base | £45-50k+ OTE

We are currently recruiting for a Department Manager for a retailer renowned for its exceptional sales and customer service standards within assisted sales and big-ticket retail.

With a basic salary of circa £32-35k and realistic earning potential of £45-50k+ OTE, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where outstanding customer service, commercial performance and team development go hand in hand.

With a background in an assisted sales environment, we are seeking a proven Department Manager, Assistant Manager or General Manager who can succeed in an extremely competitive premium market. We are keen to speak to experienced retail leaders from Furniture, Kitchens, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Flooring or Telecoms.

We want our client's new Department Manager to have the ability, drive and commercial awareness to take ownership of a high-performing department. You will lead and motivate your team, drive sales performance, develop customer relationships and ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience.

Key Responsibilities as the Department Manager:

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day performance and commercial results of your department
  • Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing sales team
  • Ensure the team consistently delivers an exceptional customer experience
  • Personally manage and develop relationships with high-value clients and customers
  • Drive sales, conversion and average transaction values across the department
  • Set clear targets and KPIs and ensure the team consistently achieves and exceeds them
  • Create and drive incentives to maximise team performance
  • Coach team members to improve sales performance, customer engagement and conversion
  • Monitor department performance, identifying opportunities and areas requiring improvement
  • Work closely with the wider management team to deliver business objectives
  • Maintain a strong customer-first culture across the department
  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and react quickly to changes in business performance

The successful Department Manager will be working in a customer-focused, assisted sales environment where high levels of service, relationship building and commercial performance are central to success.

You will be responsible for developing your team, maximising sales opportunities and ensuring customers receive an outstanding experience from initial interaction through to completion of their purchase.
