Sales Manager | Advertising & Digital Media

Hybrid / Remote Management

Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance + Uncapped Commission

OTE £90,000

If you have built your career in advertising, digital media, marketing services or agency sales and progressed from winning new business yourself into leading others, this could be a brilliant next step.

I am working with an established and growing agency looking for a commercially driven Sales Manager to lead, coach and develop an outbound sales team of up to 10 people. This is a hands-on sales leadership role.

They are not looking for someone who simply manages numbers from behind a dashboard. They want a leader who understands what great outbound sales looks like because they have done it themselves. Someone who can listen to a call, identify what needs to change, coach effectively and help turn good salespeople into exceptional performers. You will inherit a team with plenty of personality, so being able to adapt your management style is important. You will know when to challenge, when to coach and how to create an environment where people are accountable but genuinely want to perform.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role will include:

  • Leading and developing a team of up to 10 outbound sales professionals
  • Coaching across prospecting, cold calling, objection handling, meetings and closing
  • Running regular one-to-ones, call coaching and team development sessions
  • Managing performance across activity, meetings, conversion, pipeline and revenue
  • Identifying opportunities to improve individual and team conversion rates
  • Supporting salespeople on client meetings and in the field when required
  • Driving a strong new-business culture with clear accountability
  • Working closely with senior leadership to improve overall sales performance
  • Helping shape the future structure and development of a growing sales function

What I am looking for:

You will ideally have experience within advertising, digital media, digital marketing, SEO, PPC, lead generation, creative services, publishing, media sales or another agency/service-led environment. More importantly, you will have started your career in proactive new business sales and understand what it takes to create opportunities from nothing.

You will likely be someone who:

  • Has progressed from a successful new-business sales role into management
  • Has experience managing, coaching or mentoring outbound salespeople
  • Understands high-volume prospecting and self-generated pipeline
  • Can coach salespeople on calls rather than simply analyse their numbers afterwards
  • Is commercially minded and understands conversion, pipeline and revenue
  • Can manage different personalities and performance levels
  • Is comfortable leading a hybrid or remote team
  • Still enjoys being close to the sales floor and leading from the front
  • Is ambitious and wants the opportunity to progress into senior leadership
