Commercial Manager | Based in East Midlands, UK | Confidential Search

Reporting to: Managing Director

The Business

Our client is a well-established and highly respected independent distributor within the healthcare, supplying a broad range of products, including prescription and OTC medicines, clinical consumables, and specialist practice supplies, to a large customer base across the UK and Ireland.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to work directly alongside the Managing Director, gaining exposure to every aspect of a successful and growing specialist distribution business. The role combines broad commercial responsibility with a specific focus on identifying, developing, and delivering growth across existing and new markets.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business, helping to identify new customer groups, optimise and expand the product portfolio, strengthen commercial relationships, and support strategic decision-making. Prior experience in every aspect of the role is not expected; strong commercial instincts, a willingness to learn, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced SME environment matter most. Comprehensive on-the-job training and development will be provided, and for the right individual this role offers significant long-term career potential, including the opportunity to take on broader leadership responsibility as the business continues to grow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
