WE’RE HIRING: CORPORATE & FIELD SALES MANAGER
📍 Guildford Manor Hotel, Newlands Corner – Local travel required
💷 £38,000 – £42,000 Base + Uncapped Commission
🎯 Realistic OTE £52,000+
💼 Full-time
About Us
We are a premier, independent wedding and events venue in Surrey. We have a stunning property, an exceptional operations team, and vast capacity for corporate events, retreats, private parties, and large-scale celebrations. We are now looking for a hungry, high-energy Proactive Sales Manager to aggressively hunt for new business, build corporate relationships, and fill our mid-week and off-peak calendar.
THE ROLE
This is not a desk job waiting for the phone to ring. You will be a proactive market hunter. You will take full ownership of outbound business development, targeting corporate clients, event agencies, local associations, and private networks across Surrey and the surrounding counties. You will be trusted to operate autonomously, manage your own pipeline, and deliver measurable revenue growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- 📞 Outbound Lead Generation: Actively research, identify, and cold-reach local corporate businesses, booking agents, and event planners to pitch our venue.
- 🤝 Field Sales & Networking: Conduct outbound sales calls, attend local business networking events, and arrange face-to-face pitches with key decision-makers (HR managers, PAs, corporate event planners).
- 🏨 Site Inspections & Pitches: Bring high-value corporate clients to the venue, host familiarisation trips, and deliver compelling showcases that convert into contracted business.
- 📈 Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute an annual proactive sales plan targeting mid-week meetings, team-building days, corporate retreats, and large festive parties.
- 💎 Account Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with secured accounts to ensure repeat annual bookings and maximize client lifetime value.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
