Our Client
Our client is a HRTech scale-up, founded in 2017 and now 160 people strong, based in London. They've delivered 2x revenue growth for three consecutive years and closed a Series A of £5M in 2023 to fuel the next stage of that growth. They provide automated reference and background checking for employers, replacing slow, manual admin with a fast, compliant, candidate-friendly platform - and they're targeting profitability by the end of 2026.
What You'll Get
As SMB Manager, you'll receive a basic salary of £70-80k + ~£60k variable (c. 60/40 split), plus equity. The environment is fast-paced and supportive, and this is genuinely a business still in growth mode. There's a hybrid working model in place, with the team currently in the London office three days a week. You'll also get 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays + your birthday off, a £1,200 annual benefits allowance, early finish Fridays, 30 days work-from-anywhere, and a yearly company retreat abroad.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Do

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You'll report directly into the Head of Sales, taking end-to-end ownership of a ~£10k-£50k ACV SMB segment and a team of around 6AEs - covering pipeline, process, people and performance. This is a pure management role: you'll step in on deals when reps are out, join key calls, and carry a £2m annual quota during the ramp/handover period, before moving fully into the leadership seat.
What You'll Need
You'll need at least a year of sales management experience with direct responsibility for quota-carrying reps - or strong closing experience as an SDR Manager, provided closing (not just management) has been the bigger part of your remit. You must, must, must have a proven track record selling and scaling within the SMB segment (£10k-£50k ACV), and be a genuine team player who wants to be in the deals and on the calls, not just managing from a dashboard. Our client values resilience over raw performance - they'd rather hire a consistent, steady performer who's stayed the course at one company through the ups and downs than a "top 0.1%" performer who's only been in a role for a year. Ideally, you'll also have built or meaningfully improved a sales playbook, hired and ramped AEs in a fast-growth environment, and be comfortable being strict on KPIs and process while remaining an empathetic, hands-on leader.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
