Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid External Sales Manager role based in the Greater Guildford Area. The Sales Manager’s primary focus will be to develop the branch sales, set clear objectives, and monitor personal performance to achieve revenue and profit targets. Daily responsibilities include building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new customers, developing plans to attract new businesses, and ensuring high standards of customer service both in-branch and for delivered orders. The Sales Manager will also identify new business opportunities, and ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in sales management, account management, or business development, ideally within electrical wholesale, construction supplies, or a related sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including coaching, performance management, and staff development.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret sales data, set targets, manage margins, and negotiate effectively with customers and suppliers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long-term customer relationships and provide consultative, solutions-focused service.
- Organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads, manage multiple accounts, and respond quickly to customer needs.
- Comfortable using standard business software (e.g., CRM systems, spreadsheets, and email) to manage customer information, quotations, and reporting.
- Knowledge of electrical products or a strong willingness to learn technical product information through training.
- Valid right to work in the UK and flexibility to work on-site in the Greater Guildford Area.
- Full driving license beneficial for customer visits and site meetings.
- Relevant education or vocational qualifications in business, sales, or a related discipline are advantageous, but equivalent experience is highly valued.
