Role Description

The Sales Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Leatherhead. The Sales Manager will be managing and expanding client accounts, developing sales strategies, and identifying new business opportunities within the client's business market. This role involves selling new and used equipment alongside service contracts, generating new business through telephone-based and field sales activities, and conducting cold calling, canvassing, and customer visits. Additionally, the Sales Manager will:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, prospect, and opportunity records within the CRM system
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals
  • Monitor territory activity, follow-ups, and sales opportunities
  • Work closely with the manager to develop and implement marketing initiatives
  • Regularly report on sales performance, market trends, and pipeline development to senior leadership

This role involves regular travel within assigned territory.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in sales management, business development, or account management, ideally dealing with heavy equipment.
  • Strong skills in relationship building, client engagement, and stakeholder management, with the ability to establish trust and maintain long-term partnerships.
  • Competence in sales strategy, pipeline management, forecasting, and performance tracking using CRM and related tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities, with strong written and verbal skills in English.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities, including coaching, goal setting, and performance improvement.
  • Solid analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret market data and identify growth opportunities.
  • Comfort working in an on-site environment, with a proactive, result-oriented, and collaborative approach.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; prior experience in selling heavy equipment is required.
