🚛 SALES MANAGER – AGGREGATES & MUCK AWAY

Ashvale Haulage | Part of the M O’Brien Group

Location: Flamstead

Salary: Competitive salary – Attractive Bonus Package

Job Type: Full-time | Permanent

The Opportunity

Ashvale Haulage, part of the M O’Brien Group, is looking for an experienced and driven Sales Manager to join our growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in aggregates, muck away, haulage, construction or related sectors who knows the industry, understands the market and has the drive to develop new business and build long-term customer relationships.

You’ll play a key role in growing our aggregates and muck away operations, identifying new opportunities, developing existing accounts and working closely with our operational and transport teams to deliver a first-class service.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing and winning new business across aggregates and muck away
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Identifying new sales opportunities and developing a healthy sales pipeline
  • Managing key accounts and maximizing commercial opportunities
  • Preparing and negotiating competitive quotations and rates
  • Understanding customer requirements and matching them with the right transport and material solutions
  • Working closely with the Transport Manager (TM) to ensure all orders are correctly scheduled, fulfilled and completed to the customer's requirements
  • Liaising with the TM and operational team to ensure sufficient vehicles and resources are available to deliver the work secured
  • Ensuring customers receive regular updates and any operational issues are dealt with quickly and effectively
  • Following up enquiries, quotations and tenders to convert opportunities into sales

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in aggregates, muck away, haulage, construction or a similar industry
  • A confident and proven B2B sales professional
  • Commercially aware, target-driven and motivated by winning business
  • Confident negotiating rates and securing profitable work
  • A natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable dealing with customers at all levels, from site managers through to senior decision-makers
  • Operationally minded, with an understanding that winning the work is only part of the job — making sure it is delivered successfully is equally important
  • Able to work collaboratively with the TM and wider operations team
  • In possession of a full UK driving licence
