Sales Manager

Leeds | £70,000–£80,000 + Bonus + Benefits + Profit Share

Lead. Develop. Grow.

An innovative and growing business within the construction and building products sector is looking to appoint an ambitious Sales Manager to lead the next stage of its commercial growth.

The business specialises in high-performance fibre cement solutions that challenge traditional materials and offer customers practical, quality-led alternatives. With an established product range and strong market proposition, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business with genuine growth potential.

You’ll manage a sales team of 13 people, including Area Sales Managers and office-based sales support, with a key focus on developing people, improving sales performance and maximising the potential of each territory.

Alongside leading the wider sales function, you’ll also manage key customer relationships and identify opportunities to increase customer spend and drive further commercial growth.

The Role

You’ll provide the leadership, structure and commercial focus required to drive sales growth across the business.

A key priority will be to establish and embed a clear performance culture, introducing meaningful KPIs, robust performance management and accountability across the sales team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach and develop a 13-person sales team, including Area Sales Managers and office-based sales support.
  • Establish and implement clear, achievable and commercially focused KPIs across the sales function.
  • Introduce a structured approach to performance management, ensuring expectations, objectives and results are clearly understood.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, ownership and high performance, while keeping the team engaged and motivated.
  • Use performance data to identify opportunities, address underperformance and maximise each territory.
  • Develop territory-specific growth plans and drive sales activity, customer engagement and margin.
  • Hold regular 1:1s and team meetings to review performance, provide feedback and maintain momentum.
  • Manage and develop key customer relationships, identifying opportunities to increase spend and grow existing accounts.
  • Maintain a strong, accurate and well-managed sales pipeline.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to deliver growth strategies and commercial initiatives.
  • Lead from the front through customer engagement and joint field visits.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing and other internal teams to maximise opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
