📈 Who We Are: We are rebuilding the energy transaction, making it transparent and fair. Our goal is to put power back where it belongs, in the hands of customers and to take on one of the most critical problems of our century, access to low cost electricity.

tem exists to fix a broken global energy market that’s long favoured legacy operators, intermediaries, and opaque pricing. Today’s electricity system was not designed for rapid decarbonisation, AI-driven efficiency or fair access for the actual users - businesses and generators.

We’ve built the first AI native transaction infrastructure to reinvent how electricity is bought, sold and priced. Our technology is designed to cut out the inefficient fees, automate complex market flows, and bring transparency and fairness to energy transactions at scale.

In late 2025, after extraordinary growth, we closed a $75 million Series B - led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Albion, Atomico, Allianz, Hitachi Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, Schroders Capital and others - positioning us for global expansion, deeper product innovation and category leadership.

We’re scaling internationally and building toward a future where AI-driven infrastructure is foundational to electricity markets worldwide. Since launch, our modern utility product, known as RED, has already facilitated thousands of business customers and billions in energy transaction value, proving that modern software and AI can transform an industry built on legacy systems.

At tem, we’re not just building another energy company, we’re rearchitecting market infrastructure so that transparency, efficiency and sustainability become the default, not the exception.

🎙️ The Role We're hiring a Buy Side Originator to join the Commercial team in our Buy engine.

tem lets businesses buy renewable energy directly from the generators that produce it - transparent pricing, fair terms, no middlemen. Demand from smaller businesses is growing fast, and we need someone to own it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will run a high-velocity sales motion end-to-end: qualify, progress, close, and hand off cleanly. You'll work directly with business customers buying energy through tem, backed by a CRM and AI-assisted outreach tooling that keeps your pipeline full while you focus on the conversations that close deals.

In your first 12 months, you might:

  • Close your first SMB deals within your opening weeks, working a live pipeline from day one.
  • Own the long tail of a fast-growing SMB pipeline, keeping deals moving instead of going stale.
  • Put signed volume on the board that counts directly towards the Buy engine's goals.
  • Sharpen our SMB playbook with front-line feedback on what buyers ask and where deals stick.
  • Grow towards owning bigger slices of the origination motion.

🚀 Responsibilities

  • Close with pace: own smaller direct SMB opportunities from first contact to signature, keeping momentum with clear next steps.
  • Qualify fast: run discovery calls to understand each customer's site, contract timing and usage, and triage leads into chase, nurture or drop.
  • Sell honestly: explain the tem proposition clearly, handle the objections SMBs actually raise, and walk away when a deal isn't right for the customer.
  • Keep it clean: maintain tight CRM hygiene - notes, stages and timelines always current - so nothing slips and handoffs into onboarding are smooth.
  • Work smart: use AI and outreach tooling to cover more pipeline than a traditional rep could, without losing judgement on the calls that matter.
  • Feed the loop: share what customers are asking for and where deals get stuck, so the proposition keeps improving.

🎯 Requirements

Must-Haves

  • Experience in direct B2B sales where you owned deals end-to-end, qualify to close.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers every day and working a high-volume pipeline without letting deals go stale.
  • Strong discovery and objection-handling instincts - you can explain a cost-savings proposition to a non-technical buyer.
  • Disciplined CRM habits: clear notes, accurate stages, honest reporting.
  • Low ego, direct and coachable - honest with customers even when it costs the deal.
