The Role
We're looking for a commercially driven Conference & Events Sales Manager to lead the growth of our conference, corporate events and banqueting business. You'll identify and win new business, nurture key accounts, oversee the sales journey from enquiry to event delivery, and work with internal teams to create memorable client experiences while achieving ambitious revenue targets. You'll also provide day-to-day leadership to the C&E Sales Administrator.
The Responsibilities
- Drive new conference, corporate events, exhibition and banqueting business by identifying opportunities, generating leads, and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, key accounts and industry contacts, maximising repeat business and revenue opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the venue's Conference & Events sales strategy, budgets and revenue targets, monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Promote the venue through networking, presentations, site visits, client hospitality and partnership activity, raising the profile of the venue within the local and regional events market.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process, ensuring enquiries, contracts, invoicing and payments are processed accurately, while maintaining exceptional customer service standards throughout.
- Work collaboratively with venue teams, central sales and marketing functions, and line manage the C&E Sales Administrator to support the successful delivery of events and business objectives.

What we're looking for
- Proven experience in conference, events, hospitality or venue sales, with a track record of achieving targets, winning new business and growing key accounts.
- Strong understanding of the conference, banqueting, corporate events and exhibitions market, with the commercial awareness to identify opportunities and drive revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships at all levels.
- Strategic and results-focused mindset, capable of analysing performance data, developing sales plans and delivering against business objectives.
- Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and remain effective under pressure.
- Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems, with the ability to produce reports, manage pipelines and contribute to data-led decision making.
