Territory Sales Manager – Lab Automation

Great territory of Golden Triangle (Oxford/Cambridge/London), UK
£50-65k base salary + commission + benefits

We're partnering with a growing and reputable laboratory automation business looking to appoint a Territory Manager to drive sales growth across the UK's leading life science and biotech hubs.

This is a highly commercial role suited to a proactive sales professional with experience selling laboratory instrumentation, automation systems, or capital equipment into research, biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic customers.

The Role:

You'll be responsible for identifying and winning new business, managing complex sales cycles, and developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the life sciences sector. Working closely with applications, marketing, and technical teams, you'll help customers improve laboratory workflows through innovative automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy across the Golden Triangle region.
  • Generate and qualify new sales opportunities through proactive business development.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing and implementation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with scientists, lab managers, automation specialists, and procurement teams.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and commercial presentations.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and sales forecast using CRM tools.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and customer events.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in technical sales, ideally within laboratory automation/liquid handling or a related field
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Knowledge of laboratory workflows and research environments.
  • Strong consultative sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable managing long sales cycles and capital equipment opportunities.
  • Degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the territory.
