Role Overview
Do you have a passion for driving sales growth, building regional strategies and developing high-value customer relationships that support sustainable energy production and drive the green transition?
We are now looking for a Sales Manager to join our European Southern & Western sales team in Valmet Automation’s Energy and Process Systems (EPS) Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will drive business growth by managing sales of advanced automation solutions across the region. You will own the full sales cycle - from opportunity identification to deal closure - while executing go-to-market strategies tailored to energy and process industry customers.
Your portfolio includes EMS, APC, optimization, and digital solutions. You will define pricing, lead negotiations, and ensure competitive offerings. Working closely with product, marketing, and regional teams, you’ll align strategy with market needs, strengthen value propositions, and support growth across Europe and globally.
Requirements
To Succeed in This Role:
- Solid understanding of energy systems, electricity markets, and industrial processes.
- Passionate about driving business growth, building sales strategies, and closing complex deals.
- Ability to grasp complex customer challenges and translate them into high-value solutions.
- Results-driven, able to build and execute strategies and sales plans, and deliver against ambitious revenue targets.
- Experienced sales professional with a strong track record in B2B solution selling with a hands-on attitude and a customer service mindset.

Skills and Experience:
- Solid understanding of energy systems, electricity markets, and industrial processes.
- Relevant experience may include roles such as Technical Sales Manager, Sales Manager Energy Management Systems, Solution Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Process Automation Sales Manager.
- Experience in Energy Management Systems (EMS) and their practical application in industrial or utility environments.
- Knowledge of applying advanced process controls and optimization solutions for performance improvements.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), preferably Valmet DNA.
- Strong ability to identify business opportunities and convert them into profitable deals.
- Ability to translate customer challenges into high-value automation and digital solutions.
- Proven experience managing a full sales funnel and delivering against revenue targets.
- Strong solution sales skills and the ability to demonstrate customer value.
- Good presentation skills in multicultural environments.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
- Experience working across multiple countries and defining localized go-to-market strategies.

Location
The preferred location for this position is France, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, or Portugal. We are open to considering placement in other Valmet units within Europe depending on the specific case and requirements.
