Sales Manager/Engineer – UK

Remote/Travel Full Time/Permanent

About the Role

AD Energy is working with an established organisation within the renewable energy and waste-to-resource sector to recruit a Sales Manager / Sales Engineer to support the continued growth of its UK arm of a global business.

This role will be responsible for developing new commercial opportunities across the anaerobic digestion, biogas, wastewater, waste management, and renewable energy sectors, combining technical knowledge with business development and relationship management.

The successful candidate will manage opportunities from initial customer engagement through to contract execution, working closely with internal engineering teams to develop solutions that meet both technical and commercial requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across the UK.
  • Build and manage relationships with customers, asset owners, operators, developers, and industry partners.
  • Identify and generate new leads across the waste management, agricultural, and municipal markets.
  • Manage opportunities from initial engagement through to commercial negotiation and contract execution.
  • Support the growth of Operations & Maintenance contracts across existing anaerobic digestion facilities.
  • Work closely with Applications Engineering teams to develop technical solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network across relevant UK markets.
  • Gather market intelligence and provide feedback on market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity.
  • Support the development of new market penetration strategies.
  • Represent the business at relevant industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows.
  • Monitor new technologies, products, and developments across the renewable energy and waste sectors.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience within Sales Engineering, Technical Sales, or Business Development.
  • Previous experience within anaerobic digestion, biogas, biomethane, wastewater, waste treatment, waste-to-energy, renewable energy, or a closely related sector.
  • Strong technical understanding of relevant processes and technologies.
  • Proven experience developing customer relationships and progressing commercial opportunities.
  • Strong negotiation, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of UK regulations relating to waste treatment, biogas, or biomethane facilities would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of planning, permitting, and grid connection processes would be beneficial.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an established organisation operating across the renewable energy and environmental technology markets, with the chance to take an active role in developing its UK customer base and project pipeline.

The position would suit someone with a technical background who has moved into sales or business development, or an experienced Sales Engineer already working within the AD, biogas, wastewater, or wider renewable energy market.
