Job Title: Sales Manager

Location: Billingshurst, West Sussex : Office Based

Salary: GBP40,000 : GBP55,000 per annum + Car Allowance + Commission

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About The Role

As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitable revenue growth and supporting Hydrachem's sales and marketing activities. Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, Export Manager, Sales Administrators, Technical Team, and Operations Team, you will help deliver sales targets, strengthen customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities.

A key focus of this role will be managing and developing retail customer relationships, identifying opportunities for growth within existing accounts, and securing new retail business. We are looking for someone who understands the retail landscape and can successfully translate market opportunities into sustainable sales growth.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that candidates have a retail sales background to be considered for this role.

This role is office-based in Billingshurst, West Sussex; therefore, applicants must be within a reasonable commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
  • Build, maintain, and grow relationships with existing customers and retail accounts.
  • Manage key customer relationships to maximise revenue and long-term business growth.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and detailed market analysis.
  • Monitor market trends, retail activity, and competitor performance.
  • Develop expert knowledge of Hydrachem products, manufacturing processes, and packaging options.
  • Work closely with Technical and Operations teams to support customer requirements.
  • Deliver product presentations and training to customers and end users.
  • Support customer satisfaction and assist in resolving any customer concerns.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant market regulations and industry developments.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure sales and marketing activities are aligned.
  • Contribute to achieving company sales, revenue, and profitability targets.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant retail sales experience is essential.
  • Proven experience managing retail accounts and building successful relationships with retailers and distributors.
  • A strong understanding of retail sales strategies, promotional planning, forecasting, category management, and commercial negotiations.
  • Proven experience in a Sales Management role.
  • A strong track record of winning new business and growing existing customer accounts.
  • Experience selling technical products and solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset.
  • Experience analysing sales performance data and market trends.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach.
