The Role
The Sales Manager will play a vital role in growing and further positioning allmanhall as the leading food procurement provider in the Independent Education sector, working with in-house catering teams. You will take ownership and manage a sales pipeline of Independent Schools across the UK, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to manage the sales process from lead generation through to contract signature to close the deal, then handing over to the mobilisation team. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, buyers, marketing and other key colleagues, you will drive sales growth by managing opportunities, leading client presentations, supporting the creation of content and campaigns to aid sales, and attending industry events and conferences.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Generation of leads through proactive prospecting and following up incoming leads
- Listening to prospect needs and scoping a solution for them, determining if they are in or out of scope for allmanhall
- Managing sales activity and pipeline to achieve targets and conversion rates
- Leading the full sales process and collaborating with the wider team to deliver insightful proposals and presentations
- Representing allmanhall at industry events and promoting our solutions and USPs
- Keeping Salesforce up to date with accurate and timely information to support reporting and forecasts
- Finalising contractual terms in collaboration with Directors to close deals
- Extensive presentation activity – to prospects, at events and internally to SLT and directors
- Keeping an eye on what is going on in the Independent Education sector and honing our offer with the marketing team and SLT
- Ensuring a smooth handover of new clients to the mobilisation team
- Communicating developments internally to ensure collaboration, learnings, improvements and shared success
The Candidate
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in sales / business development
- Previous experience in food service, procurement or catering industries
- Proven record of closing sales deals and meeting targets
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent at relationship building and networking
- Proactive and results-driven with strong organisational skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems, especially Salesforce
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a collaborative team
- Full UK driving licence and access to private transport to attend sales meetings
- An understanding of the Independent Education sector

The Contract
Hours
Full-time, permanent: 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday 08:45 – 17:15 (with an early finish on Friday at 16:15).
Salary
£48,500 per annum plus a competitive commission scheme and monthly car allowance.
Location
We are seeking a candidate ideally based within the Midlands / North of England. This geographic positioning ensures efficient coverage of independent education region and optimal accessibility for fortnightly Head Office visits (Wiltshire, SN13 0NY) and regional client meetings.
