Sales Manager - Industrial, Defence and Medical markets

Location: Long Crendon

The Opportunity

This is a senior leader role responsible for identifying and driving revenue growth, managing the technical sales team, and engaging in supplier development for Power supply business within industrial, defence and medical markets.

Core Responsibilities

  • Accountable for Leading the sales team: Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate sales staff to achieve individual and team targets. Empowered with developing the sales areas and building new profitable customer relationships
  • Set and achieve sales and profit targets: Define short- and long-term sales goals, monitor performance, and adjust and execute strategies to meet KPIs maximising sales while maintaining healthy margins
  • Develop and drive design sales through a strong design Pipeline of projects and measured conversion identifying niche opportunities in growth markets (e.g., renewable energy, industrial automation, ground defence)
  • Coordinate forecasting, develop and drive design pipeline management, and opportunity tracking
  • Develop market strategies: Identify new market opportunities, work proactively with suppliers and building supplier relationships, to position the company effectively in the power supplies market
  • Create and execute strategies through the sales team based around focus products, by market or customer. Target customer programs based on end applications either to convert existing business or create new projects.
  • Build long-term customer relationships: Use strong negotiation and communication skills to secure and maintain profitable partnerships
  • Responsible for Price strategy and Quote Management of sales team
  • Promote Ecopac’s Customisation and Modification Value Added services to customer base
  • Support the successful execution of strategic customer initiatives while promoting operational excellence and continuous quality improvements.

What You’ll Bring

  • A proven track record of leadership and people management experience in field / remote sales environment for over 5 years
  • Strategic planning ability to align sales activities with business goals
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the power supply market with strong technical expertise; battery supply knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of electrical industry standards, regulatory requirements and compliance
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills for market research, competitor analysis, and sales data interpretation
  • Experience engaging with customers across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics, with strong cultural awareness.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical/ Electronic/ Systems Engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CRM systems, and sales reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis (approximately 50%) and a valid driver’s license.
