Commercial Insurance | Healthcare Sector

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 + OTE £6,000 + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Sales Team Leader or Sales Manager who thrives on developing people, driving performance and creating a positive, high-achieving culture?

We're delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected insurance organisation that is looking to recruit an ambitious Sales Manager to lead a successful team of eight within their specialist commercial insurance division.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys coaching, mentoring and getting the very best out of people, whilst working within a business that genuinely invests in its employees and offers excellent long-term career progression.

The Role

You'll be responsible for leading a team of four New Business Advisors and four Sales Support Advisors, ensuring they consistently deliver exceptional customer service whilst achieving both individual and team targets.

Working within a regulated environment, you'll play a key role in maintaining FCA compliance, driving operational excellence and creating a culture of continuous improvement.

The team specialises in commercial insurance solutions for businesses within the healthcare sector, including:

  • GP Surgeries
  • Dental Practices
  • Veterinary Practices
  • Locum & Staff Absence Insurance

Alongside these core products, you'll also oversee insurance solutions including Property Owners, Engineering, Terrorism and a range of additional commercial covers required by healthcare businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and inspire a team of eight to consistently achieve and exceed performance targets.
  • Deliver daily team briefings, set clear objectives and monitor performance through KPIs and visual performance tracking.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions and structured 1-2-1s, creating tailored development plans to maximise individual performance.
  • Identify underperformance early and implement effective coaching and improvement plans.
  • Monitor quality assurance scores, cancellations and customer complaints, ensuring high standards are maintained.
  • Ensure full adherence to FCA regulations and company compliance procedures.
  • Oversee holiday approvals, absence management and shift planning to ensure smooth operational delivery.
  • Ensure customer information is managed securely and accurately while maximising lead conversion opportunities.
  • Support recruitment activities, including interviews, assessment centres and onboarding of new team members.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Previous experience managing or leading a sales team.
  • A proven track record of coaching individuals to improve performance.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment.
  • A good understanding of FCA compliance and customer outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Commercial insurance experience would be a significant advantage, although it isn't essential.
