Effective April 1, 2026, Toyota Automated Logistics brings together Bastian Solutions, Vanderlande’s warehousing business, and viastore under one unified brand. At a glance:
We are seeking a motivated Sales Manager Modernization & Lifecycle Solutions to join our team in Birmingham. In this role, you will drive the growth of our Retrofit, Modification & Revision (RMR) business across the region. Working closely with Service Account Managers, customers, and internal stakeholders, you will identify commercial opportunities, develop tailored modernization solutions, and convert these opportunities into successful projects. You will play a key role in strengthening customer relationships, expanding our installed base business, and bringing innovative solutions to market.
Your Impact:
- Drive sales growth and achieve order intake targets for Retrofit, Modification & Revision (RMR) projects within your region.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities together with Service Account Managers across the installed customer base.
- Convert customer needs into commercial opportunities and collaborate with Service Sales Engineers to create tailored solutions and quotations.
- Manage the complete sales process from lead generation to contract award and successful handover.
- Promote modernization initiatives, upgrades, and innovative solutions that create long-term value for customers.
- Build strong customer relationships, re-engage former customers, and support the expansion of our service business.
- Provide market feedback and commercial insights to strengthen our lifecycle and modernization offerings.

What makes you a great fit?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in technical sales, service sales, modernization projects, or business development within industrial, automation, logistics, or intralogistics environments.
- Strong commercial mindset with a demonstrated ability to generate and close complex sales opportunities.
- Experience working with customers on retrofit, upgrade, modernization, lifecycle, or capital improvement projects is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand technical solutions and translate customer requirements into commercial offerings.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across sales, engineering, and operational teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong collaborative approach.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive and results-driven attitude.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
