About Shamaazi

Shamaazi is a fintech-for-good company building technology that helps people make positive financial decisions. We specialise in products that channel funds for charitable purposes, and have facilitated over Β£17 million in donations.

Our products include MyTenNights, MyTenDays, MyFridays, MyDailyGiving and GiveMatch. We are now building towards a unified platform that turns occasional, moment-driven donors into habitual year-round givers.

The role

Charity, Mosque & Community Partnerships | UK based | Birmingham/West Midlands advantageous | Remote-first with regular UK travel

This is a new business role with clear ownership of commercial growth. You will generate and develop new charity, mosque and community partnership opportunities, build relationships with senior stakeholders and take opportunities from first contact through to onboarding and a live, performing campaign.

The infrastructure is built. The opportunity now is distribution, and this role exists to drive it.

This is not an inbound-led role. You will build your own pipeline through proactive outbound, your existing network, referrals and face-to-face relationship building with charity, mosque and community leaders. Trust in this market is earned in person, so regular UK travel and attendance at relevant community and sector events are core parts of the job.

What you will own

  • New business generation
    • Own the new-business number: identify target organisations, build the pipeline and generate partnerships that contribute meaningful GTV and commercial value.
  • Prospecting and network-led acquisition
    • Build structured outbound across email, phone, LinkedIn, events, introductions and referrals. Create opportunities from scratch rather than relying on inbound leads.
  • Face-to-face relationship building
    • Build relationships across UK cities with significant Muslim and charity communities. Meet mosque committees, charity leaders and community organisations in person, and represent Shamaazi at relevant conferences, fundraising events and community gatherings.
  • Full opportunity ownership
    • Own the process from prospecting and discovery through solution shaping, commercial recommendation, onboarding and first campaign. Set the next step at every stage and drive opportunities forward.
  • Partner agreements, fee tiers and platform access are decided by the platform owner. You will build the commercial case and work within the approved pricing framework.
  • Pipeline and forecasting
    • Maintain a healthy qualified pipeline in HubSpot. Every opportunity should have a clear owner, value, stage, close date and next action, with forecasting leadership can rely on.
  • Ecosystem selling
    • Sell the wider Shamaazi ecosystem rather than a single product. Understand the partner's goals, identify the broader opportunity and position the products and campaigns that can deliver it.
  • Commercial judgement
    • Prioritise organisations and segments by quality and potential value rather than activity or volume. Qualify out early where the fit is not there and bring a view on where Shamaazi should pursue next.
  • Senior stakeholder navigation
    • Build trust with trustees, executive directors, imams, mosque committees and community leaders. Map decision makers, build multiple relationships and navigate governance-heavy buying processes with patience and structure.
  • Handover and market feedback
    • Close is the start, not the end. Give Customer Success the full deal context, objectives, promises and expansion opportunities. Surface partner needs, objections, blockers and competitive signals so Product and Growth can act on them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right β€” and where to focus when applying.

What success looks like

  • New business signed against target, contributing meaningful GTV and commercial value.
  • A qualified, high-value pipeline that consistently covers target.
  • Strong funnel conversion and increasingly efficient sales cycles.
  • A meaningful proportion of business self-sourced through outbound and your network.
  • Partnerships that grow after signature because expansion potential was identified early.
  • Accurate HubSpot data and forecasting leadership can rely on.
  • Product and Growth acting on market insight you surface.

The person

You have a track record of winning new business in a consultative, relationship-led environment and enjoy building from a standing start rather than managing an inherited book.

You are:

  • Self-generating: Build your own pipeline and do not wait for leads.
  • Relationship-led: Build trust with senior stakeholders, particularly face to face.
  • Commercially sharp: Distinguish a busy pipeline from a valuable one and prioritise accordingly.
  • Structured: Run a disciplined process with clear qualification, clean CRM data and reliable forecasting.
  • Consultative: Sell outcomes and an ecosystem, not a feature list.
  • Resilient: Stay consistent through long sales cycles, setbacks and quiet periods.
  • High ownership: Take responsibility for the number and what affects it, including after close.
  • Culturally fluent: Understand, or can quickly learn, how charities, mosques and community organisations make decisions and earn trust.

Essential experience

  • Experience closing new business in B2B sales, partnerships or business development.
  • Evidence of personally sourcing and closing business, not only handling inbound or pre-qualified leads.
  • Experience selling to organisations with multiple stakeholders and committee or board-led decision making.
  • Confidence building relationships face to face and travelling regularly across the UK.
  • Disciplined CRM and pipeline management, ideally HubSpot.
  • Right to work in the UK and based in the UK.

Highly desirable

  • Existing network across UK charities, mosques or Muslim community organisations.
  • Experience with mission-driven, faith-based or community-led organisations.
  • Understanding of Ramadan and seasonal fundraising cycles.
  • Experience in SaaS, fintech, payments or charity technology.
  • Familiarity with MEDDICC, BANT or another structured qualification framework.

What this role is not

  • Not inbound-led: You define the target list and build the pipeline.
  • Not account management: Customer Success owns retention and delivery; you focus on new business.
  • Not single-product sales: You sell the wider Shamaazi ecosystem.
  • Not desk-only: Regular face-to-face partner time is expected.
  • Not contracting or pricing: You build the commercial case and momentum; approved platform frameworks govern agreements and fees.

Location and travel

UK based and remote-first. Birmingham or the West Midlands is advantageous, but we are flexible for the right person. Regular UK travel is expected, including some evening/weekend events. Travel intensity increases around key fundraising periods, particularly Ramadan.

Reporting and working relationships

You will report to the Head of Commercial & Partnerships and work closely with Customer Success on handover and expansion, and Product and Growth on market feedback and campaign support. This is a highly autonomous role with clear accountability for the commercial outcome.

Working environment

We are a remote-first team with regular London meetups. We value trust, flexibility and high performance, with core hours for collaboration.

We are a small, fast-moving team where priorities can change quickly and information is not always complete. Periods of demanding workload are part of the role, particularly around peak campaign seasons. Autonomy comes with accountability.

You need to thrive on:

  • Ambiguity: Make sensible decisions with incomplete information and surface uncertainty.
  • Pressure: Prioritise, make trade-offs and maintain good judgement.
  • Change: Adapt quickly without losing sight of the outcome.
  • Setbacks: Learn from stalled or lost deals and keep moving forward.
  • Direct feedback: Listen, challenge constructively and change approach when the evidence supports it.
  • Accountability and ownership: Make risks visible early and focus on improving the overall outcome.

We do not expect everything to go perfectly. We do expect you to remain calm, constructive and effective when it does not. Durability means maintaining good judgement and ownership when circumstances are not ideal; it does not mean treating exhaustion as a virtue.

Perks and benefits

  • πŸ’« Competitive base salary plus a transparent performance-based variable plan tied to platform growth.
  • πŸ–οΈ Generous paid time off aligned with local regulations and market standards.
  • πŸ’ͺ Remote-first flexibility focused on outcomes, not hours.
  • πŸ“š Β£1,500 annual learning and development budget plus 3 paid learning days.
  • 🌍 Quarterly in-person meetups where possible and regular virtual team days.

Application process

All stages are via Google Meet:

  • Recruiter Screen β€” 15–20 mins
  • Culture Survey β€” 15 mins, self-directed
  • Hiring Manager Interview β€” 45 mins
  • Task and Presentation β€” 60 mins
  • Team Fit Interview β€” 60 mins

  • Mop the Floor: Extreme ownership. If you see something that needs doing, take responsibility.
  • What boss?: Our customers are the real boss. Build around their needs and experience.

As a remote-first team, we expect team members to have access to a suitable home working setup and a reliable internet connection. This role also requires the ability to travel regularly across the UK.
