About The Role
Shopify’s Sales team works with ambitious brands to help them modernize and scale commerce across ecommerce, retail, B2B, and global expansion.
We’re looking for a Sales Manager to lead a team of Account Executives selling Shopify’s commerce platform to mid market merchants. This is a hands-on first-line leadership role: you’ll coach reps, inspect pipeline, shape deal strategy, build operating discipline, and help define how Shopify wins in the enterprise market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and develop a high-performing team of Account Executives.
- Partner with reps on strategic deals, executive alignment, competitive positioning, and negotiation strategy.
- Drive forecast accuracy, pipeline health, account planning, and territory execution.
- Identify patterns across deals and turn them into stronger sales motions and coaching moments.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain exceptional sales talent.
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineering, Marketing, Product, Partnerships, and Customer Success to win and grow large merchants.
- Set a high bar for ownership, urgency, and execution.
- Represent the Shopify Commercial team at IRL events and dinners.
Qualifications:
- Based in the UK, with a strong preference for a candidate who is based in London.
- Experience leading AE teams through complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Track record of exceeding targets as an IC and/or sales leader.
- Strong deal-coaching skills across discovery, qualification, technical validation, negotiation, forecasting, and close planning.
- Operational rigor across pipeline inspection, forecast management, territory planning, and account strategy.
- Builder mindset with the ability to improve process, raise standards, and operate in ambiguity.
- Clear, data-informed communication with senior stakeholders.
- High standards for talent, accountability, and team culture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. Shopifolk thrive on that and are comfortable being uncomfortable. That means Shopify is not the right place for everyone.
Before you apply, consider if you can:
- Care deeply about what you do and about making commerce better for everyone.
- Excel by seeking professional and personal hypergrowth.
- Keep up with an unrelenting pace (the week, not the quarter).
- Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change.
- Bring critical thought and opinion.
- Put AI agents and tools to work on the tasks they're built for, and focus on the work only humans can do.
- Embrace differences and disagreement to get shit done and move forward.
- Work digital-first for your daily work.
