Sales Manager – Private Markets

We are working with a fast-growing global research and information services business that supports leading investment firms and corporate decision-makers with access to specialist industry knowledge and market intelligence.

The business has an established international presence and works with some of the world's leading private equity firms, investment managers and financial institutions.

As part of continued growth, they are looking to hire a Sales Manager to join their Private Markets division. This is a new business focused position, responsible for developing relationships with prospective clients, managing the full sales cycle and delivering against ambitious revenue targets.

The Role

As Sales Manager, you will take ownership of a defined market and build relationships with prospective clients across the private markets investment community.

You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, engaging senior stakeholders and demonstrating how the company's research and information services can support investment and commercial decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute a new business strategy across a defined portfolio of prospective clients
  • Identify and engage relevant decision-makers within private equity firms and other investment organisations
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from initial prospecting through to negotiation and close
  • Understand clients' research requirements and position the appropriate products and services
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and become a trusted commercial partner
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships through additional products and services
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular revenue forecasts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support prospecting, lead generation and client engagement
  • Ensure a smooth transition of newly acquired clients into the account management function
  • Work closely with regional sales leadership to support wider growth initiatives

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced B2B sales professional with a strong track record of developing new business and building relationships with senior decision-makers.

Experience selling into private equity, investment management, M&A, credit or wider financial services organisations would be particularly advantageous.

The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a B2B new business sales environment
  • A strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through to close
  • Confidence engaging and presenting to senior and C-level stakeholders
  • Strong prospecting, networking and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent pipeline management and forecasting discipline
  • A consultative approach to understanding client requirements
  • Strong commercial awareness and intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment

Experience selling research, data, information services, SaaS, professional services or other high-value solutions into the investment community would be highly relevant.
