Sales Manager - Automation & Process Location: Huddersfield, UK | Full-time, Monday - Friday
We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Manager to join UNICAT Technologies, helping to grow our Automation & Process engineering business.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical sales professional with a background in industrial engineering, automation, process industries or similar project-based environments.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for developing new business and converting opportunities into profitable projects, working closely with customers and our internal engineering, tendering and project teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Generating, qualifying and converting new sales opportunities.
- Building strong customer and partner relationships.
- Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to order.
- Coordinating technical and commercial inputs for proposals and tenders.
- Maintaining an accurate sales pipeline and CRM.
- Supporting successful handover into project delivery.
- Protecting revenue and gross profit through effective scope and commercial management.
- Representing the business at customer meetings, site visits and industry events.

About You
You’ll have:
- Proven technical/project sales experience in industrial engineering, automation, process or a related sector.
- A track record of winning profitable business.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- The ability to understand technical requirements and communicate confidently with customers and engineering teams.
- Excellent organisation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, target-driven approach and full UK driving licence.

Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, control systems, industrial automation or process equipment would be advantageous.
The role includes frequent UK travel and occasional international travel, with a year-one new customer sales target of £1.5m.
