Regional Sales Manager - Industrial Applications

£50,000 - £60,000 Basic + 30% Bonus + Hybrid Company Car + Home Based

Location: Home Based | Ideally North West, Yorkshire or along the M62 Corridor

Our client is a highly respected, privately owned speciality chemical distributor with an outstanding reputation for technical expertise, customer service, and long-standing relationships with some of the world's leading chemical manufacturers.

Operating across the UK and Ireland, they supply specialist products into a diverse range of manufacturing industries and continue to enjoy significant growth through investment, innovation, and exceptional customer partnerships.

Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to appoint a Regional Sales Manager to develop and grow their Industrial Applications business.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine business development opportunity where you'll inherit an established customer portfolio whilst taking ownership of a strategically important market sector focused on:

  • Lubricants
  • Greases
  • Metalworking Fluids
  • Metal Contact Applications

With responsibility for approximately £2.5 million of existing business, you'll be tasked with developing new opportunities, strengthening existing relationships, and delivering continued double-digit growth.

This role offers genuine autonomy, the backing of an experienced technical team, and the opportunity to become a recognised specialist within your sector.

  • Managing an established portfolio of approximately 100-150 active buying accounts
  • Developing relationships across a wider network of over 500 technical and commercial contacts
  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities within manufacturing industries
  • Delivering profitable sales growth through solution-based selling
  • Providing both commercial and technical support to customers
  • Managing complex sales projects with development cycles typically lasting between 6 and 12 months
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and opportunity pipelines
  • Representing the business at customer meetings, trade events, and industry exhibitions
  • Working collaboratively with technical specialists, customer service teams, and international manufacturing partners

About You

We're looking for an ambitious, commercially focused sales professional who combines technical understanding with the ability to develop long-term customer relationships.

You'll ideally possess experience within one or more of the following:

  • Lubricants
  • Greases
  • Metalworking Fluids
  • Speciality Chemicals
  • Chemical Distribution

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Proven B2B sales success within technical manufacturing markets
  • Strong business development and account growth experience
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • The ability to communicate confidently with technical, purchasing, and senior management teams
  • A consultative, solution-led sales approach
  • High levels of energy, resilience, and self-motivation
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Experience managing long technical sales cycles

A STEM qualification would be advantageous, although candidates with significant relevant industry experience are equally encouraged to apply.

Territory

The customer base is predominantly located across the M62 Corridor, making candidates based around:

  • Manchester
  • Liverpool
  • West Yorkshire
  • Lancashire
  • Cheshire

particularly well placed, although applications from elsewhere in the UK are welcomed.

This is a home-based position with regular customer visits and occasional travel to Head Office.
