Project Sales Manager – UK

Location: Commutable to Manchester | Territory: UK-wide
Sector: Power Generation / CHP / Energy Solutions

We are recruiting a Project Sales Manager for an established power generation and energy solutions business, responsible for developing project-based sales opportunities across the UK.
The role will focus on CHP, gas engine and on-site power generation solutions for commercial and industrial customers, helping organisations improve energy efficiency, resilience and operating costs.

The successful candidate will be required to work from the Manchester office approximately two days per week, alongside regular customer and site visits across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and manage existing customer relationships across the UK.
  • Identify and develop CHP, gas engine and on-site power generation projects.
  • Build relationships with end users, consultants, contractors and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Target opportunities across sectors including manufacturing, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, data centres and utilities.
  • Conduct customer meetings and site visits to understand technical and commercial requirements.
  • Manage proposals, quotations, pricing, negotiations and commercial terms.
  • Work closely with engineering, project and service teams to develop customer solutions.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts and CRM records.
  • Monitor market and competitor activity and attend relevant industry events.

About You

We are looking for someone with proven experience within power generation, CHP, distributed energy or a closely related technical market.

You will ideally have:

  • B2B sales or business development experience within CHP, gas engines, generators or commercial/industrial energy solutions.
  • Experience selling complex, project-based technical solutions.
  • A good understanding of the UK power generation and energy market.
  • An established network within the power generation, energy or industrial sectors.
  • A proven track record of developing new business and managing key accounts.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage a UK-wide territory and travel regularly.
  • Be based within a reasonable commute of Manchester and able to attend the office around two days per week.

CHP or gas engine experience would be particularly advantageous, although candidates from the wider generator, distributed energy and power generation markets will also be considered.
