Sales Manager, UK North

About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Sales Manager for our client to lead business growth across the North of the UK. This field-based role is responsible for developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales performance within a designated territory.

The successful candidate will be passionate about building long-term partnerships, delivering exceptional customer service, and achieving ambitious sales targets. You will work closely with veterinary practices, clinical teams, and key decision-makers while acting as a trusted advisor and representative of the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused sales professional who thrives in a customer-facing environment and enjoys developing both new and existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and implement effective territory plans to maximise sales growth and market penetration.
  • Achieve and exceed individual sales targets and key performance objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and maintain structured call cycles to ensure effective territory coverage.
  • Consistently generate new appointments and prospecting activity to support pipeline growth.
  • Research target accounts and proactively follow up on sales leads and opportunities.
  • Produce accurate quotations and sales orders using company systems.
  • Maintain and expand the customer database, ensuring all information is accurately recorded.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and market feedback to management.
  • Attend sales meetings, training programmes, and industry events to remain informed of market developments.

Product Training & Customer Support

  • Deliver high-quality product demonstrations and training to veterinary surgeons, nurses, and clinical teams.
  • Support customers in achieving the best outcomes through effective use of equipment and products.
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of wet lab training sessions and educational events within the territory.
  • Act as a trusted partner, providing ongoing support and guidance to customers.

Industry Representation

  • Represent the company professionally at local, national, and international conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows.
  • Promote the company's products, services, and reputation within the veterinary sector.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitors, and customer needs.

What We're Looking For

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a field-based sales or business development role.
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent relationship-building, networking, and account management skills.
  • Confident presenter with the ability to deliver product training and demonstrations.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing a sales territory.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
