About the Role
What if your next Sales Manager role wasn't just about the next promotion, but could put you on a genuine path towards running an aerospace and defence business in the future? We are supporting a highly successful and highly profitable aerospace and defence manufacturer looking to appoint an ambitious Sales Manager to its international team.
This is an opportunity with serious headroom! You'll take ownership of international customers and markets, develop new business opportunities and work closely with senior leadership in an environment where high performers can progress beyond sales into senior executive positions and, potentially, CEO-level responsibility in the future.
If you're ambitious about where your career could go over the next 5–10+ years, this is much more than another sales position.
Responsibilities
As Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for:
- Developing and growing international customer relationships
- Identifying and converting profitable new business opportunities
- Building and progressing a strong sales pipeline
- Developing relationships with senior commercial and technical decision-makers
- Opening new routes to market and developing strategic partnerships
- Leading commercial and value-based pricing conversations
- Working closely with engineering, operations and senior leadership to convert opportunities
- Taking genuine ownership for growth rather than simply reporting on activity

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who Are We Looking For?
You could already be an established Sales Manager, or you may be a successful Business Development Manager or Account Manager ready to take the next step. We're particularly interested in people with experience across aerospace, defence or a closely related high-value engineering environment.
More importantly, you'll need to be ambitious. We're looking for someone commercially driven and proactive who creates opportunities, builds credibility with sophisticated customers and wants their career to eventually extend beyond an individual sales function.
You'll also need to be collaborative, authentic, coachable and comfortable operating internationally.
