About Kord
Kord is an FCA-regulated fintech delivering KYC, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), identity verification, and payments infrastructure to regulated businesses across the UK. We sit at the intersection of compliance, fintech, and trust, helping companies verify who they are dealing with quickly and reliably. Our client base continues to grow. Enquiry volumes are rising, and our product surface is becoming more complex. The Sales function sits at the heart of that growth, and this is where you come in.
Why this role matters
As a Sales Manager at Kord, you will be responsible for shaping how we sell and for the people who do the selling. This is a pivotal step for our Sales function as we scale, and you will play a central part in how it takes shape.
We are looking for someone hands-on who leads by doing. You will set the standards, put a strong rhythm in place, and coach people to be good at their jobs. The difference between telling someone what to do and helping them get genuinely better is the difference we care about here.
This is a leadership role with real commercial weight. You will own the revenue plan, build the pipeline discipline behind it, and grow the team as Kord scales.
What you'll own
Coaching and managing the team
- Coach and develop the team, focusing on helping people do their best work rather than simply assigning tasks
- Run enablement that lifts the whole team's capability, from prospecting through to closing
- Be present and hands-on in live deals, modelling good practice and stepping in where it helps people learn
- Put consistency in place: kick-off calls, weekly check-ins, and a clear rhythm the team can rely on
- Establish the processes, templates, and playbooks a growing sales team needs to work in a repeatable way
- Set standards for how deals are worked, recorded, and progressed

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Kord is a London-based fintech helping regulated businesses including law firms, conveyancers, and estate and lettings agents manage identity checks, compliance, client onboarding, and payments from one platform.
Founded in 2019 by James Owusu, Kord (formerly known as Checkboard) was built to bring together processes that are often handled by separate systems and teams, cutting out manual work and reducing the risk of fraud along the way.
We work with firms handling high-value, high-stakes transactions, particularly in property and legal services, giving them the tools to onboard clients and process payments quickly, securely, and with confidence.
It's a fast-moving space, and we're growing quickly alongside it, which means plenty of opportunity for the people who join us to make a real impact.
