Sales Manager | Surrey/Hybrid | Circa £50k + Comms

An established international events and publishing business is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join its growing team and take a leading role in the continued development of a major specialist exhibition.

The business operates internationally across a range of specialist sectors, delivering industry-leading events and publications to highly engaged professional audiences around the world. Its modern offices in central Dorking provide a collaborative environment for people who want to make an impact and develop their careers.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team behind several industry award-winning shows and another major industry expo, which has been at the forefront of the industry for the past decade.

Following an exciting rebrand and expansion, the exhibition now brings together four key areas of innovation:

  • Electrification
  • Automation
  • Infrastructure
  • Regulation

As Sales Manager, you will play a key role in driving the commercial growth of the exhibition, developing relationships with leading businesses across the sector and helping shape its future expansion.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive exhibition stand sales and consistently achieve agreed sales targets
  • Identify, develop and manage sponsorship opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with exhibitors, sponsors and industry partners
  • Manage and develop a healthy sales pipeline
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to continued revenue growth
  • Work closely with the wider events team to deliver the exhibition strategy
  • Support the continued expansion of the event in 2027 and beyond
  • Develop a strong understanding of the maritime technology and decarbonisation landscape
  • Establish yourself as a knowledgeable and trusted voice within the sector
  • Support and guide colleagues, sharing knowledge and contributing to a collaborative sales culture

About you

We're looking for an experienced exhibition and sponsorship sales professional who is commercially driven, relationship-focused and excited by the opportunities presented by emerging maritime technologies.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in exhibition and/or sponsorship sales
  • A strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent customer relationship, communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing sales pipelines and converting opportunities into revenue
  • A collaborative and supportive approach to working with colleagues
  • Genuine enthusiasm for maritime technology, sustainability and decarbonisation
  • The motivation to immerse yourself in a specialist industry and develop your sector knowledge
  • A self-motivated, proactive approach with strong commercial awareness
  • Confidence working in an open-plan, collaborative office environment
  • A willingness to support, mentor and guide other members of the team
