Sales & Membership Manager — Arts & Creative Industries

Cluster London

Freelance / Part-Time / Project-Based
London / Hybrid

Compensation: Commission-based or part-time/project fee + commission, depending on experience.

About Cluster

Cluster is a London-based contemporary arts platform supporting emerging and established creative talent through exhibitions, curated showcases, residencies, memberships, partnerships and international opportunities.

Working across contemporary art, photography, illustration, craft, jewellery and digital art, Cluster has built an international community of artists and creative professionals over the past decade.

We are now looking for a commercially minded Sales & Membership Manager to help grow the next stage of the platform.

The Role

This is a sales-focused position for someone who is confident speaking to people, developing relationships and converting enquiries and leads into sales.

A key focus will be selling Cluster memberships, exhibition opportunities and other artist-facing programmes and services, while developing longer-term relationships with artists and creative professionals within our network.

You don't necessarily need to come from a gallery background, but you should have a genuine interest in contemporary art and the creative industries and be able to understand and communicate the value of what Cluster offers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales across Cluster memberships, exhibitions, showcases and other programmes, from initial contact through to conversion.
  • Proactively generate new leads and identify opportunities to grow Cluster’s artist and client network.
  • Manage and maintain an organised sales pipeline, including enquiries, follow-ups, existing contacts and prospective members.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with artists, creatives and other relevant contacts, understanding their needs and identifying suitable opportunities within Cluster.
  • Conduct targeted artistic and creative-industry research to identify emerging artists, new audiences, relevant networks and potential leads.
  • Work closely with the wider Cluster team to support upcoming programmes, campaigns and growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Cluster’s sales strategy, identifying new approaches to acquisition, conversion and membership growth.

Who We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in someone who:

  • Has experience in sales, business development, account management or client acquisition
  • Is confident starting conversations and closing sales
  • Has a genuine interest in art, design, culture or the creative industries
  • Is personable and able to build trust rather than relying on aggressive sales techniques

  • Is proactive and able to work independently
  • Has excellent written and spoken English
  • Understands that artists require a thoughtful and consultative sales approach

Experience within galleries, art fairs, creative agencies, artist platforms, design, luxury, cultural organisations or creative education would be particularly valuable, but is not essential.

Working Structure

We are looking for someone to join Cluster on a part-time to full-time basis, with flexibility depending on experience, availability and the scope of the role.

We are open to discussing a working arrangement that suits both the candidate and the organisation, with a commission-based element linked to sales performance.

The role offers flexibility in working hours and structure, with the opportunity to develop into a longer-term position as Cluster continues to grow.

To Apply

Please send us:

  • Your CV or LinkedIn profile
  • A short introduction about yourself
  • Your relevant sales/business development experience
  • Why the creative industries and Cluster interest you

We're particularly interested in hearing about what you've sold, who you've sold to, and how you approach building relationships and closing opportunities.
