About HENI
HENI is an international multi-services art business working at the intersection of art and technology. From printmaking and physical artwork marketplaces to NFTs, publishing, news, video production, and art research, HENI works with the world's leading artists and estates to make art accessible to audiences worldwide. We are ambitious, fast-moving, and unafraid to challenge how the art world operates.
The role: Books Sales & Marketing Manager
HENI Publishing produces beautifully made books with some of the most significant authors, artists and estates in the world. We want more people to find them, buy them and talk about them, and we don't think the traditional publishing playbook is the only way to get there.
We're looking for a commercially sharp, creative marketer and seller who can own how our books reach readers: from trade and retail relationships to direct-to-consumer, social, partnerships and launches. You don't need to come from the book world. In fact, we'd love to hear from people who've grown brands in consumer goods, fashion, music, media, culture, e-commerce or tech and who can bring fresh thinking to an industry that often does things the way it always has.
This is also a role with room to grow. Because HENI spans prints, marketplaces, books, digital, news and video, we're looking for someone versatile enough to contribute to campaigns and projects across the wider business as opportunities arise.
What you'll do
Sales and growth
- Own sales targets for the books list, across trade, retail, museum and gallery shops, special sales and direct-to-consumer.
- Develop and deliver bespoke sales and marketing strategies for frontlist titles, working directly with artists and authors, securing direct sales and partnerships with galleries, institutions, sponsors and other third parties, organising launches and events, and coordinating publicity and social media activity to maximise reach and sales.
- Develop ongoing sales of backlist titles, identifying opportunities linked to exhibitions, anniversaries and other relevant events or connections to authors and subjects; build HENI Publishing’s direct-to-consumer mailing lists and promotions; and develop business-to-business sales opportunities, including corporate gifting, hotels, offices, cafés and private libraries.
- Build and nurture relationships with authors, booksellers, distributors, institutions and non-traditional retail partners such as concept stores, fashion and lifestyle brands.
- Spot new channels and revenue streams, from limited and signed editions to bundles with HENI prints, corporate gifting and international markets.
- Track performance, read the data and make quick, confident decisions about where to focus.
- Manage the Publishing website and other online distribution and sales portals: keep content, metadata, images and product information accurate and up to date, while identifying ways to improve the online presentation and sale of HENI books.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who you are
You'll probably have:
- 4+ years in a sales, marketing or growth role where you've owned results, whether that's a consumer brand, cultural organisation, media business, start-up or agency.
- A track record of launching products or campaigns that genuinely moved the numbers, and the ability to explain why they worked.
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce, social media, email and digital advertising, plus comfort with the data behind them.
- Strong relationship skills: you can win over a buyer, a partner or an artist's studio.
- Excellent writing and a good eye; you know what makes something look and feel desirable.
You are:
- Innovative. You question "how it's always been done" and come with ideas, not just opinions.
- Versatile. Comfortable switching between a spreadsheet, a campaign brief and a partner meeting in the same afternoon.
- Entrepreneurial. You act like an owner, move quickly and learn by testing.
- Curious about art and culture. You don't need an art history degree, but you care about the work and the people who make it.
Bonus points for: experience with luxury, collectible or limited-edition products; international markets; community-building or creator partnerships; or any time spent in publishing that left you wanting to shake things up.
Why join HENI

- Real ownership and the freedom to try new things, in a business that moves fast.
- Exposure to a unique mix of art, publishing, digital, video and marketplaces, with room to grow your role across them.
- A small, ambitious team where good ideas get acted on.
