Company Description
Upshift Finance is a specialist SME lender providing flexible, structured capital to established UK businesses. Founded by former J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley investment bankers, the company focuses on junior capital solutions such as unsecured revolving credit facilities and term loans ranging from £100k to £2m+ with tenors of 1–24 months. Upshift Finance partners with existing senior lenders to support businesses that have reached traditional leverage limits but remain fundamentally creditworthy. Backed by committed capital, the firm offers funding where timing, structure, or complexity fall outside typical bank appetite. Its advantage lies in institutional-grade underwriting delivered at fintech speed, with thorough credit work, streamlined documentation, and decisions in days rather than weeks.
The Role
We're looking for a Sales Operations Executive to be the office-based backbone of our origination process. You'll sit between introducers, BDMs and Credit, keeping deal flow triaged, accurate and moving. You'll vet incoming deals against our lending criteria, keep the CRM and pipeline accurate and current, monitor introducer and borrower onboarding, chase outstanding information and offers, and issue indicative terms and final offers once Credit has confirmed decisions. The role makes sure deal flow is triaged efficiently and correctly before it reaches BDMs and Credit, and that approved terms progress to completion without unnecessary delay. That frees our BDMs to focus on introducer relationships and portfolio growth rather than day-to-day deal administration. You'll report to the BDM(s) / Head of Origination.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Check submissions are complete against our standard information checklist, chasing introducers and borrowers for anything outstanding
- Keep CRM records accurate and up to date across the full deal lifecycle, from submission through to funding

- Chase outstanding offers, conditions precedent and documentation to keep deals moving to completion
- Issue indicative terms and final offer documentation once Credit has confirmed decisions, making sure approved terms are transmitted accurately
- Escalate borderline, high-risk or non-standard submissions to BDMs or Credit for judgement, rather than making credit decisions yourself
- Provide pipeline visibility and reporting across the full book to support BDM and Credit planning
- Over time, take ownership of a set of broker and introducer relationships and help build out our broker desk, shaping the processes, tooling and service standards behind it
