The Role
Are you an experienced Sales Operations Manager with the commercial awareness and analytical ability to improve sales performance across an international organisation?
Our client is a successful global business based in Cambridge. Due to continued development, they are looking to recruit a commercially minded and highly analytical Sales Operations Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Working closely with senior sales leaders and stakeholders across the business, you will provide the data, reporting, processes and commercial insight needed to support informed decision-making and sustainable revenue growth.
This is a senior and influential role covering sales planning, forecasting, pipeline management, CRM ownership, performance reporting and process improvement. The successful Sales Operations Manager will act as an independent business partner to the sales function, constructively challenging assumptions and ensuring the sales team has the tools, information and governance required to perform effectively.
Main Responsibilities
- Leading the sales forecasting process and improving forecast accuracy
- Supporting the development and delivery of annual sales plans and growth strategies
- Working with senior sales leaders on territory planning, account segmentation and resource allocation
- Developing and maintaining sales KPIs, dashboards and reporting frameworks
- Tracking performance against revenue, pipeline, conversion and activity targets
- Analysing sales trends and presenting clear, actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Producing accurate sales performance reports for the senior leadership team
- Monitoring pipeline health and identifying potential risks and opportunities
- Conducting regular forecast and pipeline reviews with regional sales teams
- Acting as the primary owner of the CRM system
- Improving CRM adoption, data quality and user engagement across the sales function
- Maintaining appropriate data governance, accuracy and compliance standards
- Designing, documenting and continuously improving sales processes and workflows
- Identifying operational inefficiencies and introducing automation where appropriate
- Standardising sales tools, reporting processes and operational procedures
- Supporting change-management initiatives across the sales organisation
- Working closely with Finance, Marketing, Customer Support and other internal departments
- Supporting the onboarding and training of new sales employees
- Assisting with sales incentive and commission programmes
- Monitoring order progress, backlog and revenue conversion
- Developing dashboards and reporting tools using business-intelligence platforms
- Using customer, sales and market data to identify trends and commercial opportunities
- Delivering improvements in sales productivity, operational efficiency and commercial performance

Skills and Experience
The successful Sales Operations Manager will ideally have:
- Proven experience within Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Commercial Operations or Sales Analysis
- A strong understanding of sales processes, forecasting and pipeline management
- Experience managing a CRM platform such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or HubSpot
- Advanced analytical, reporting and data-modelling skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience creating dashboards, KPIs and senior-level performance reports
- The confidence to review and constructively challenge sales forecasts and commercial assumptions
- Excellent commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills
- The ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
- Excellent organisational and project-management skills
- A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Experience improving processes and supporting organisational change
- The ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and international teams

Experience with Power BI or a similar business-intelligence platform would be advantageous.
Knowledge of sales compensation and incentive programmes would also be beneficial, as would a relevant qualification in business, finance, analytics or a related discipline.
Salary and Working Hours
- Salary: Up to £95,000, depending on experience
- Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
