Sales Operations Team Leader

Nottingham | £40,000 + Bonus | Foodservice | Office Based

Are you a strong people manager who loves getting the best out of a team?

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing foodservice business supplying wholesalers, distributors, restaurant groups, and other customers across the UK & Ireland.

We're looking for a Sales Operations Team Leader to own a busy, office-based commercial team covering Sales Administration and Telesales.

This isn't a role where you'll simply keep things ticking over. You'll be given the autonomy to lead the team, improve performance, introduce better ways of working, and make sure the internal sales operation provides outstanding support to both customers and the field sales team.

What you'll be doing

You'll take day-to-day responsibility for the performance and organisation of the commercial office, creating a positive environment where people know what's expected of them and take ownership of delivering it.

You'll:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Administration and Telesales teams
  • Set and manage individual and team KPIs
  • Organise workloads and ensure priorities and deadlines are met
  • Drive proactive telesales activity across existing, dormant, and prospective customers
  • Coach the team around customer conversations, follow-up, and converting opportunities
  • Ensure customers receive fast, accurate, and professional support
  • Work closely with the field sales team to maximise commercial opportunities
  • Monitor performance and provide clear management information
  • Identify inefficient processes and introduce practical improvements
  • Create greater structure, accountability, and consistency across the commercial office

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role combines people leadership, sales operations, customer service, and commercial performance, so you'll need to be comfortable switching between managing people, solving problems, and getting involved when the team needs you.

Who are we looking for?

You'll already have experience leading or supervising an office-based team, ideally within Sales Operations, Telesales, Sales Administration, Customer Service, or another fast-moving commercial environment.

More importantly, you'll be someone who can lead from the front. You'll be organised, commercially aware, and confident managing performance. You'll know how to set expectations, have difficult conversations when necessary, and create a team culture where people take responsibility for delivering results.

You'll also need good Excel and Microsoft 365 skills, be comfortable working with KPIs and data, and have the confidence to make decisions without constantly escalating upwards.

Experience within foodservice, food wholesale, FMCG, or distribution would be particularly useful, although it's not essential.

Why join?

The business is growing, which means this isn't a finished role with rigid processes already in place. You'll have the opportunity to shape how the internal sales operation works as the company develops, with genuine responsibility, direct exposure to senior management, and the opportunity to progress as the business continues to grow.

  • £38,000 – £40,000 basic salary + bonus incentives
  • Nottingham
  • Office based with on-site parking

If you're an experienced team leader who enjoys developing people, improving performance, and creating structure within a busy commercial environment, we'd love to hear from you.
