Sales & Operations Manager — Commission Only
UK | Remote | Commission Only
Nightingale Software Group is a bootstrapped B2B SaaS company building a growing portfolio of business software across CRM, operational workflows, approvals, customer support and business management.
We are looking for an experienced B2B commercial professional to join us at an unusually early stage and take ownership of customer acquisition, while helping shape the sales and operational function as the company grows.
This is not a conventional sales role. It is an opportunity for someone commercially ambitious to get in early, have genuine influence over how the business goes to market and build something that can develop into a senior leadership position.
The Offer
- 40% lifetime recurring commission on the MRR of every customer you personally acquire.
- Commission continues for as long as the customer remains subscribed.
- Full autonomy over prospecting, outreach, sales strategy, demonstrations, and closing.
- Marketing and sales-tool budgets will be allocated according to demonstrated sales performance, with resources increasing as recurring revenue grows.
- As the business reaches agreed revenue milestones, the role is intended to transition into a permanent salaried leadership position.
- Upon transitioning to a salaried position, your commission on personally acquired customers will become 10% uncapped recurring commission, continuing for as long as those customers remain subscribed.
- The longer-term progression is toward Director of Sales & Operations, subject to performance and the company reaching the required revenue milestones.
This is a commission-only position initially. Any future salary, employment status, or directorship is dependent on the company reaching the required revenue milestones and is not guaranteed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Why This Opportunity
The attraction is simple: you are getting in before the sales function is built.
Rather than joining an established organisation where your role is limited to working an existing territory, pipeline, or process, you will have the opportunity to directly influence how Nightingale Software Group acquires customers and grows recurring revenue.
You will work closely with the founding leadership team, have significant autonomy, and be able to see a direct relationship between the customers you win and your earnings.
The commission structure is deliberately weighted toward the person creating the revenue. Every customer you personally acquire can continue generating commission for you for as long as that customer remains subscribed.
As the business grows, so does the opportunity to move from building the sales function to leading it.
The Role
You will take responsibility for building the commercial engine from the ground up.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and managing a targeted outbound B2B sales pipeline.
- Identifying businesses that have a genuine need for our software.
- Researching prospects and developing effective outreach strategies.
- Conducting cold outreach across relevant channels.
- Running discovery calls, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Managing prospects from first contact through qualification, proposal, and close.
- Maintaining accurate pipeline and sales activity records.
- Developing and refining our sales process based on real market feedback.
- Identifying new verticals, use cases, and commercial opportunities.
- Working with founding leadership on customer onboarding and operational processes.
- Feeding customer and prospect insight back into product and commercial strategy.
- Helping establish the systems, processes, and standards required to scale the sales function.

We’re Looking For
You should have:
- Proven experience in B2B sales.
- Experience selling SaaS, technology, business services, or another complex B2B proposition.
- A demonstrated ability to generate your own pipeline, rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
- Confidence with cold outreach, discovery, and objection handling.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- The commercial judgment to identify where there is a genuine opportunity and where there isn’t.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work without an established corporate sales machine.
- Strong self-management and the discipline to work independently.
- A results-driven approach to recurring revenue rather than simply activity levels.
Experience selling software into SMEs or operationally complex businesses would be particularly valuable.
The Person We’re Looking For
This role will suit someone who wants more than another sales position.
You should be comfortable with ownership, comfortable with accountability, and motivated by building rather than maintaining.
You will have the freedom to determine how you prospect, how you approach the market, and how you develop opportunities. In return, you will be expected to create your own momentum and demonstrate commercial results.
The successful person will have the opportunity to become a key part of the company’s growth story rather than simply another salesperson within an existing structure.
You will not be handed a mature pipeline.
You will build it.
You will not inherit an established sales function.
You will help build one.
