Sales & Partner Associate

How to Apply

Send a short note about yourself and why Cotta interests you, alongside your CV, to hello@cottavita.com with the subject line: Sales & Partner Associate — Application.

About Cotta

Cotta brings together London's independent chefs, artisan makers and producers in one place, so a chef's meal and a handmade pantry find arrive in the same delivery. Think Borough Market, on your doorstep. Every partner is chosen for their craft and the story behind what they make, from private chefs and bakers to fermenters, specialty producers and small-scale growers. They're serious about what they do. So are we.

We launched in July 2026 and now deliver across Chelsea, South Kensington, Kensington, Belgravia, Mayfair, Pimlico and Battersea, with more of London to come. We're a small team, so the partners you bring to Cotta will shape what our customers see every time they open the app.

The Role

You'll grow the supply side of Cotta and look after it once it's grown. That means finding the right partners, getting to know them, bringing them through to a signed agreement and a live shop, and then staying on as the person who owns the relationship. Prospecting and account management sit together in this role, because the partner who trusted you enough to sign should hear from you when it's time to talk about pricing or a slow month.

You'll build much of your pipeline yourself, and you'll own the partners you sign along with any existing partners we allocate to you. You're their point of contact and their advocate inside Cotta, and you're accountable for how well they trade.

You won't be doing it alone. You'll have a clear curation standard, a close working relationship with the CCO, and the Concierge team, who take care of onboarding admin, Partner Portal setup, listing builds and day-to-day operational support. They carry the admin so you can carry the relationship.

We judge success by the quality of the partners you activate and how well they trade once they're live. It's a role for someone who'd rather hold a standard than hit a number.

Growth at Cotta

Cotta is growing into more of London, and every new area needs new partners and someone to look after them. The Commercial team will grow with it. You'll be one of its first members, working directly with the CCO and founder, and what you learn in the field will shape how the team is built and who joins it next.

This role is the ground floor of our sales function, with room to grow as the team does.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You Will Do

Finding Partners

  • Research and identify chefs, artisan makers, specialty producers and growers who meet Cotta's curation standard, across both Meals and Market
  • Build and work an outreach list through LinkedIn, Instagram, food industry networks and your own contacts
  • Spend regular time at London food markets, pop-ups and producer fairs, which is one of the main ways we find partners
  • Write personal outreach that sounds like Cotta and represents the brand well

Qualifying & Pitching

  • Manage and reply to inbound partner enquiries
  • Assess prospects against Cotta's curation rubric (product quality, story, visual potential, operational reliability, brand fit)
  • Run discovery calls to understand each partner's business, range and capacity
  • Present Cotta's platform, commercial model and partner proposition clearly, and answer objections with the facts, including the ones that don't flatter us
  • Be the first straight conversation a prospective partner has with Cotta

Getting Partners Live

  • Check every new shop against Cotta's visual standards before it goes live (profile image, gallery, product photography and shop description)
  • Brief the Concierge team on each new partner and work with them through onboarding, so the partner deals with one familiar person from first call to first order
  • Agree with the CCO when a new partner is ready to trade

Looking After Partners

  • Hold the ongoing commercial relationship with each of your partners
  • Run regular reviews with them on range, pricing, availability, seasonality and performance
  • Use trading data to spot where a partner is underperforming, then help fix it, whether that's listing quality, photography, range gaps, price positioning or stock reliability
  • Grow revenue from your existing partners as well as from new signings
  • Act as your partners' advocate inside Cotta, taking product, operational and platform issues to the right team and following them through to resolution
  • Notice early when a partner goes quiet, and find out why
  • Work with the Concierge team on service issues, with you holding the commercial relationship and Concierge handling the operational fix

Pipeline & Reporting

  • Keep HubSpot up to date with lead scores, deal stages, interaction logs, account records and next steps
  • Send the CCO a weekly pipeline and partner performance report
  • Feed what you hear in the field back into our curation standard, commercial terms and partner proposition

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Several years of experience across sales, business development and account management, or equivalent demonstrable experience, including owning accounts after the sale
  • Confidence with outbound contact, from a good cold email to a good first call
  • A track record of growing revenue from existing accounts as well as winning new ones
  • The organisation to run your own pipeline and your own accounts without being chased
  • Comfort with a CRM (HubSpot or similar)
  • The ability to read performance data and turn it into a useful conversation with a partner
  • A real interest in food, with an eye for quality, provenance and craft
  • Clear communication, in writing and in person
  • The judgement to have a difficult conversation with a partner and keep the relationship
  • Based in or near London and able to travel around the city to markets, events and partner premises

Desirable

  • Experience in a marketplace, platform or two-sided business
  • A background in food, hospitality, catering or specialty FMCG
  • Familiarity with London's independent food scene
  • Hands-on HubSpot experience
  • Experience working alongside a service or support team, where you held the commercial relationship and they handled delivery

We are not looking for someone who has managed a sales team, built a commercial strategy, or run a full sales function. This is an execution role at a growing company, but with potential for individual growth and progression.

What We Offer

  • Salary: Up to £40,000 per year.
  • Commission: £8,000 a year at target, rising to £10,000 if you beat your targets. Commission is earned on the partners you sign and activate, and on how well the partners you own trade.
  • Hours: Full time, 5 days a week
  • Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays
  • Pension: Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in our workplace pension
  • A small team with short decision-making chains, and a direct line to the CCO and founder

We want our hiring process to work for everyone. If you need any reasonable adjustments at any stage (a different application format, extra time, or an accessible interview), tell us when you apply or email hello@cottavita.com, and we'll sort it.

Employment is conditional on right-to-work checks in the UK.

Please note that Cotta is unable to sponsor any visa applications.
