PolyPump is a leading provider of industrial pump solutions, representing professional rotating equipment manufacturers across centrifugal and positive displacement pump systems, mixers, chemical dosing systems, larger gear drive systems, and specialty motors. The company supports key sectors including power, oil, food processing, water and waste, beverage, mining, nuclear, chemical processing, fire, and facilities management. PolyPump focuses on delivering reliable pump and system solutions, helping customers reduce mean time between failure (MTBF) and improve energy efficiency. Team members collaborate closely with clients to provide tailored advice, consultation, and technical support that optimize system performance and lifecycle costs.
Role Description
The Sales Professional role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wallingford. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, and promoting PolyPump’s range of industrial pump and rotating equipment solutions.

Day-to-day tasks include:

- Conducting customer visits
- Preparing proposals and quotations
- Delivering technical product presentations
- Coordinating with internal technical and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of solutions
The Sales Professional will analyze customer requirements, recommend suitable systems for their applications, and maintain detailed records of sales activities using CRM tools. The role also involves:
- Monitoring market trends
- Contributing to sales forecasts
- Supporting marketing initiatives to strengthen PolyPump’s presence in key industries
Qualifications
- Strong industrial or technical sales skills, with experience in selling engineering, mechanical, or process equipment solutions.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts related to pumps, rotating equipment, and associated systems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient relationship management and customer service skills, including negotiation, consultative selling, and account management.
- Solid business development and prospecting abilities, including lead generation, pipeline management, and deal closing.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create clear proposals and product documentation.
- Comfort working on-site in an industrial environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in sectors such as power, water, oil and gas, food processing, chemical processing, or related industries is highly beneficial.
- Relevant education in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in technical sales.
- Proficiency in common office software and CRM tools, and a valid driver’s license for client visits.
