Job Summary and Key Responsibilities:

The Sales Progression Manager is responsible for leading, influencing, and improving the performance of multiple Sales Progression Teams across the business. The role will have direct responsibility for managing a Sales Progression Team and will also provide leadership, direction, and oversight to an additional team through its Team Leader/s.

Working closely with the Head of Sales Progression, the Sales Progression Manager will be responsible for identifying performance trends, operational challenges, and areas of risk, and for developing and implementing effective solutions to improve performance, efficiency, and service delivery. The role is focused on leadership, performance management, operational oversight, continuous improvement, and strategic problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, managing, coaching, and developing a Sales Progression team, while providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to additional teams through Team Leaders.
  • Working with the Head of Sales Progression and Team Leaders to achieve required prediction, pipeline conversion, performance, and service targets.
  • Monitoring team and departmental performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs, using data and management information to identify trends, risks, underperformance, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identifying the root causes of operational and performance issues, developing practical and sustainable solutions, and overseeing their implementation and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring consistent application of processes, standards, and best practice across teams, brands, and regions.
  • Managing performance effectively through clear expectations, regular reviews, action planning, and appropriate support to address underperformance.
  • Coaching and developing Team Leaders and team members, identifying training and development needs, supporting succession planning, and developing future leaders.
  • Building effective relationships with Branch Managers, Regional Sales Directors (RSDs), Team Leaders, and other key stakeholders, acting as an escalation point for complex operational and performance issues.
  • Providing the Head of Sales Progression with clear insight and recommendations relating to performance, operational challenges, risks, and opportunities.
  • Leading and supporting departmental projects, growth initiatives, system changes, and process improvements to improve efficiency, service delivery, and transaction progression.
  • Promoting a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture, encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the department.
  • Conducting and supporting staff appraisals, performance reviews, and development conversations in line with company expectations.

What Are We Looking For:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience of managing and developing teams within a high-volume operational environment.
  • Experience of managing through Team Leaders or other people managers, with the ability to influence performance across multiple teams.
  • Significant experience in sales progression and a strong understanding of the property industry and conveyancing process.
  • Proven experience of managing performance against KPIs and SLAs, with the ability to analyse data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective, practical solutions.
  • Experience of driving continuous improvement, implementing change, and improving processes and ways of working.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multiple teams, brands, and regions.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands effectively.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and motivate others, including Team Leaders and future leaders.
  • Experience of supporting or leading projects, system changes, or wider business initiatives desirable.
