Seafast Logistics - Sales & Purchase Ledger Accounts Clerk

Seafast Logistics is seeking a Sales & Purchase Ledger Accounts Clerk to be responsible for the site transactions for both Seafast Logistics and Seafast Cold Chain operations that feed into the management accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring supplier statements are received and reconciled in a timely manner ready for payment including reconciling Shipping Line Statements on a weekly basis
  • Monitoring resolutions of supplier invoice queries both internally with the operations team and externally with suppliers
  • Ensuring the 10-working day purchase invoice KPI is adhered to and reporting this weekly to the senior management team
  • Producing weekly payment runs for Central Finance to ensure accuracy
  • Posting and allocating daily payments/receipts to the system
  • Resolve purchase invoice matching discrepancies with CGA, working closely with the CGA PIP team on all aspects of AP invoice processing
  • Raising weekly sales invoices for SCCL, working closely with the SCCL operations team to ensure accuracy
  • Processing Overhead AP Invoices, sending for approval and passing invoices for payment
  • Producing the weekly Aged Debt reports, providing reasons for nonpayment of any Overdue accounts to the Management Team
  • Credit Control for both SFL & SCCL ensuring timely payment of our invoices and raising any invoice queries with the Operations Teams
  • Carry out Month End Closure procedures, to include checking all payments/receipts have been allocated and providing month end reports for Central Finance
  • Ensure site compliance, corporate standards and financial controls are adhered to
  • Provide holiday cover and support for local Operational Finance Team
  • Support the development of standardised reports and ways of working
  • Develop strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the site and wider organisation

Essential Skills / Experience:

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in purchase/sales ledgers/dealing with customers & suppliers preferred. Salary to be based on experience
  • Ability to work within a dynamic, fast-moving environment & prioritise accordingly to meet deadlines
  • Proactive and flexible approach
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Desire to continuously improve performance
