Job Title: Sales Representative

Job Type: Contract (12 months)
Location: North England (Remote)

Position Description:

Contribute to The Company's Vision of Companionship Enriching Life by:

  • Achieving individual and team sales targets.
  • Building quality relationships with customers.
  • Contributing to The Company's core Values and Behavioural Pillars.
  • Management of all Pet Health Veterinary practices in a defined area of the UK/Ireland, performing day-to-day activities on territory (face to face or virtual), and actively promoting the Company and its products.
  • Use of smart value-added services to help position The Company as a highly trusted partner.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

Deliver:

  • Achieve designated net sales target across the focused product profile using The Company's Customer Value Selling Model.
  • Monitor and control rebates for independent practice in line with pricing guidance.
  • Achieve sales activity in line with agreed targets at the segmented customer level.
  • Provide customers with advice and support on product use and disease state, staff training on client education and product promotion, commercial/business support, marketing/merchandising and social media activity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key veterinary practices, decision-makers, and KOLs within the territory.
  • Flexibility to provide a combination of face-to-face and virtual account support.
  • Demonstrate a high level of business acumen to sell our value-add business consultancy offering to vet practices to leverage sales of our portfolio.

Involve:

  • Contribute to and therefore be part of the team that achieves the net sales target for the UK and Ireland.
  • Strategic use of The Company's Business resources, for example, Technical Consultants, Brand and Strategic Account Managers. Include services (such as client surveys) to gain maximum ROI (return on investment).
  • Provide market, competitor, and customer information directly to the commercial team including Key Account Managers, Brand/Marketing Managers, and the Leadership Team.
  • Collaboration with Marketing, Strategic Account team, and Sales Management to carry out customer activity as directed at a practice level.

Innovate:

  • Provide a transformational approach to nominated accounts, thus being regarded as a true business partner. Add value to the products and services supplied and resourced by The Company.
  • Use of The Company's Business tools and information to help customers identify opportunities and implement strategies.
  • Establish a high level of technical knowledge and stay up to date with disease state, competitor, and product innovation to recognize clinical positioning and commercial opportunities.
  • Successful launch of new products and innovation.
  • Utilise digital innovation to optimize customer reach and engagement, including personalized videos, interactive video conferencing (e.g., Mentimeter) etc.

Own:

  • Creation of strategic business plan using the SOSTAC framework with a focus on where to play and how to win in all areas of our product portfolio. Quarterly territory plans to be created and executed to ensure customer-facing time is maximized.
  • Implementation of The Company's Customer Value Selling model, to develop an understanding of customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Own the entire sales process from lead generation to closing of a commercial agreement.
  • Active use of The Company's CRM tool, sales data, competitor brick data, and any other available tools to monitor performance and align the activities with key performance objectives such as call segment prioritization, customer contacts, and penetration.
  • Growth mindset and personal development: Own a development plan and grow both business and technical knowledge.

Qualification (education, experience, and/or training, required certifications)/Essential Skills:

  • Degree or equivalent in sales/marketing/business/life sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated sales experience or strong understanding of the Veterinary Industry.
  • Mobility essential to travel across territory & have flexibility of nights away when required for national events and internal meetings.
  • Intermediate IT skills, especially Microsoft programs, e.g., Excel.
  • Excellent questioning capabilities.
  • Ability to build rapport, and develop strong business relationships.
  • Confidence in asking for customer commitments.
  • Good English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including a high level of competency in public speaking.
  • Self-motivated, with the discipline to deliver on plans and commitments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Additional Preferences:

  • Knowledge of and experience in the Animal Health industry.
  • NOAH Certificate of Animal Health qualification.

Other Information:

The position will be field-based within GB and will involve extensive travel throughout the territory. This could involve staying away from home and attendance at major conferences and meetings within the UK and potentially occasional visits outside the UK.
