About Us
Bulk Automation specialises in the supply of process and packaging machinery, including robotic automation systems, to a wide range of industries across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Sales Representative to join our expanding team.
The Role
We are looking for a confident and motivated salesperson who enjoys being out on the road, meeting customers and developing new business.
The role will involve travelling throughout the UK to visit existing and prospective customers, identify new opportunities and promote Bulk Automation's range of machinery and automation solutions.
You will be responsible for building relationships with customers, generating new leads and taking opportunities from the initial conversation through to quotation and sale.
This is a field-based sales role, so being comfortable with regular travel and face-to-face customer meetings is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business across the UK by proactively identifying potential customers, making initial contact through cold calling and other sales activity, arranging meetings and creating new sales opportunities within relevant industries.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by regularly visiting prospective and existing customers, understanding their requirements and identifying opportunities where Bulk Automation's machinery and automation solutions could benefit their business.
- Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to sale, including customer meetings, maintaining regular communication and working with the internal sales and engineering teams to ensure the customer's requirements are understood.
- Represent Bulk Automation in the marketplace by attending customer visits, trade shows, exhibitions and industry events, developing new contacts and helping to increase awareness of the company and its products.
- Manage your own sales activity and pipeline, including planning customer visits, keeping accurate records of leads and opportunities, providing regular feedback to the team and working towards agreed sales targets and objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
