Role Description

The Sales Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Bothwell. This position focuses on serving trade and public customers by providing product advice, preparing quotations, and processing orders at the counter and over the phone. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Managing customer inquiries
  • Recommending suitable timber and building materials
  • Ensuring accurate pricing and availability information
  • Supporting the showroom and yard team
  • Coordinating with warehouse staff for stock checks and collections
  • Helping maintain a clean, well-presented sales area

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with customers and colleagues.
  • Proven Customer Service abilities, with a focus on building positive, long-term relationships.
  • Demonstrated Sales experience, ideally within building materials, timber, or a related trade environment.
  • Experience in Training or coaching team members on products, systems, or sales processes.
  • Exposure to Sales Management or assisting with sales targets, reporting, and basic performance tracking.
  • Basic knowledge of construction or building materials is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort using point-of-sale systems and handling cash, card payments, and order documentation.
  • Ability to work on-site, stand for extended periods, and collaborate effectively with yard and warehouse staff.
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to solving customer problems.
  • Relevant experience in retail, trade counter, or merchant environments is an advantage.
