Edinburgh, Scotland | Full-Time | On-Site
Build Sales Skills. Build Confidence. Build Your Career.
At Caledonia Group, we believe some of the most valuable commercial skills are developed by working directly with people.
We’re looking for a Sales Specialist to join our Edinburgh team. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for people who want to develop their communication, sales and business skills through hands-on, face-to-face customer interaction.
You don’t need previous sales experience.
If you already have experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, sport, events or another people-focused environment, there are plenty of transferable skills you can bring into the role. If you’re starting from scratch, that’s fine too - our training is designed to help you build skills from the ground up.
What Does an Outsourced Sales Team Actually Do?
We work with clients across different industries who outsource aspects of their customer acquisition and brand representation to specialist sales teams.
Why?
Because not every customer relationship can be built through a website, advert or digital campaign.
Face-to-face interaction creates real conversations.
Our role is to represent our clients directly, introduce their products or services to customers, understand their needs and create genuine relationships that lead to new business.
This means the role is not primarily office-based, remote or telephone sales.
You will be working face-to-face with customers as part of live client campaigns.
We believe this environment provides a practical way to develop skills in communication, sales, negotiation, customer psychology and commercial decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Sales Specialist, you’ll represent our clients directly while developing the skills required to become a confident sales professional.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Representing recognised brands through face-to-face customer campaigns

- Developing your sales, negotiation and closing skills
- Applying feedback from your coaches and managers
- Working towards individual and team performance targets
- Working collaboratively within a high-energy team environment
You’ll learn by doing.
The expectation isn’t that you walk in knowing everything. The expectation is that you learn quickly, apply what you’re taught and continuously improve.
Why Face-to-Face Sales?
Digital marketing has changed the way businesses reach customers, but genuine human interaction still matters.
Our clients work with us because we can create something that digital channels cannot always replicate: a real conversation between two people.
It’s also an environment where you can develop quickly.
Every conversation gives you an opportunity to improve your communication, confidence, commercial awareness and ability to influence.

You’ll receive hands-on training covering:
- Sales fundamentals
- Customer communication
- Product and campaign knowledge
- Consumer psychology
- Objection handling
- Negotiation
- Closing techniques

We’re looking for someone who can learn, apply and improve.
Progression & Leadership
This is an entry-level position, but progression is available for those who demonstrate strong performance and leadership potential.
As you develop, there may be opportunities to progress into team leadership, coaching, campaign management, business development and management.
Progression is based on performance, consistency, attitude and ability to take on greater responsibility.
The Reality of the Role
We want to be upfront: this is a face-to-face sales position.
You’ll speak with customers every day, work towards targets and operate in a performance-driven environment. Some conversations will go well and some won’t — the key is being willing to take feedback, learn and improve.
If you’re looking to build confidence, develop commercially valuable skills and potentially progress into leadership, this could be a great fit.
