Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Sales Staff role based in Keynsham. The Sales Staff member will assist customers at the trade counter and in the showroom, providing product advice, preparing quotations, and processing orders accurately. Daily responsibilities include handling inquiries by phone and in person, checking stock availability, coordinating with the warehouse team, and ensuring orders are fulfilled in a timely manner. The role involves maintaining a clean and well-organized sales area, supporting merchandising and promotions, and using the company’s systems to manage sales transactions and customer accounts. The Sales Staff member will work closely with colleagues to deliver friendly, efficient service and contribute to sales growth.

- Experience in customer-facing sales environments, ideally within building supplies, construction, or a related trade sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with both trade professionals and the general public.
- Basic numeracy and IT skills, including confidence in using point-of-sale systems and handling cash or card transactions.
- Knowledge or keen interest in building materials, construction products, or DIY, with a willingness to learn technical product information.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, remain organized in a busy environment, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious, with a professional approach to serving customers on-site.
- Previous experience in a builders’ merchant or hardware store is beneficial but not essential.
- Right to work in the UK; relevant vocational or industry-related training is an advantage.
