Lockton is different by design.

As the world’s largest independent insurance brokerage, we are not driven by shareholder pressure, PE timelines or acquisition-led growth. Instead, we invest for the long term — building capability, developing talent and delivering organic, sustainable growth for our clients.

To support this ambition, we are creating a new Sales Strategy team within Lockton Specialty, and we’re looking for commercially minded individuals who want to help shape how growth really happens.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional insurance role — and we’re not looking for insurance specialists.

We’re looking for people from financial services, professional services, consulting or advisory environments who understand how to design and execute smart, scalable growth strategies in complex B2B organisations.

You’ll sit at the centre of Lockton Specialty, partnering with senior leaders, producers and business development teams to:

  • Define clear, data-led growth strategies across Specialty practices
  • Identify high-value client segments, priority markets and target accounts
  • Translate strategy into practical, on-the-ground sales activity
  • Build structured, repeatable sales and origination approaches
  • Improve pipeline quality, forecasting discipline and conversion
  • Shape go-to-market propositions and commercial narratives
  • Help embed a long-term, organic growth mindset across the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a rare chance to build capability from the ground up, rather than inherit something already set.

We are actively seeking candidates who bring:

  • Experience in sales strategy, growth, commercial consulting, business development or go-to-market roles
  • A background in professional services, financial services, consulting or advisory firms
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to turn insight into action
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing without formal authority
  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable building, testing and refining

Insurance experience is not required — curiosity, commercial judgement and executional credibility matter far more.
