Business Development Co-ordinator

Leyland, Lancashire
Full-Time | Permanent | Office Based

About the Company

Our client is a well-established manufacturer within the contract furniture industry, with over 50 years of experience supplying high-quality furniture solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a proactive and enthusiastic Business Development Co-ordinator to join their friendly and experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career with a successful and expanding business.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 1:30pm

The Role

As a Business Development Co-ordinator, you'll provide key support to the external Business Development team, helping to manage customer enquiries, maintain relationships and ensure new business opportunities are followed up effectively. You'll act as an important point of contact for prospective and existing customers, responding to enquiries, gathering information, carrying out research and helping to arrange appointments and customer meetings. Working closely with the wider sales team, you'll ensure they have the information and support they need to develop opportunities and deliver excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and sales support to the external Business Development team.
  • Respond to customer and prospective customer enquiries by phone and email.
  • Arrange and coordinate appointments and meetings for the external sales team.
  • Gather customer information and understand their requirements to support the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records on the CRM system.
  • Prepare information and support the sales team with customer communications and follow-ups.
  • Support the team with sales administration and general coordination.
  • Build positive relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  • Research potential customers and identify relevant business opportunities.
  • Assist with lead generation and ensure opportunities are followed up appropriately.
  • Occasionally accompany the sales team on customer visits and attend exhibitions.

About You

We're looking for an organised, confident and proactive individual who enjoys working with customers and supporting a busy sales team.

You'll Have:

  • Previous experience in sales administration, customer service, sales support, business development or a similar role.
  • Confidence communicating with customers over the phone and via email.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail.
  • The ability to build rapport and understand customer requirements.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using CRM systems or similar databases.
  • A proactive and helpful approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
