The Role
Brook Green Supply (BGS) is a leading independent B2B energy supplier, delivering tailored energy supply and Net-Zero solutions to industrial and commercial consumers.
The Sales Support Manager leads and optimises the Sales Support team, a critical function supporting the commercial success of the Sales Department.
This role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will embed best-in-class processes, support the sales lifecycle and act as a key liaison between commercial, operational and client-facing functions.
You will lead team performance, improve ways of working and ensure accurate, timely support across tendering, deal execution, onboarding, CRM management and sales enablement.
Essential Functions of the Job
Team leadership and development
- Lead, mentor and develop the Sales Support team, setting clear performance targets, accountability frameworks and personal progression plans.
- Actively manage individual and team performance through personal development planning, regular coaching and performance reviews.
- Develop and implement recruitment, onboarding and training strategies to maintain a high-performing team that can respond to varying and seasonal workloads.
- Foster a culture of development, collaboration and continuous learning across the team.
Sales support and process excellence
- Provide comprehensive sales support to Business Development Managers, Key Account Managers and TPI channels to support timely and accurate deal execution.
- Manage and coordinate the full tender process for I&C customers.
- Ensure a smooth end-to-end customer journey from pricing and credit approval through to onboarding and live supply.
- Identify and close process gaps by working cross-functionally with Sales, Commercial, Credit and Operations teams.
- Ensure internal documentation, policies, procedures and training materials are accurate, relevant and regularly updated.

Governance, systems and reporting
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, supporting audit readiness and contractual accuracy.
- Maintain CRM systems to ensure strong data integrity, accurate opportunity tracking and consistent pipeline reporting.
- Analyse key performance indicators, identify operational trends and provide actionable insight to support data-led decision making and commercial strategy.
- Support the rollout of internal training and sales enablement resources for new starters and existing team members.
Skills & Experience required
- Experience leading a sales support team in the energy or utilities sector, ideally across B2B or B2C environments.
- Proven experience leading operational or support teams in an energy, utilities or fast-paced commercial setting.
- Confident people leader with a strong background in operations, customer service or sales support functions.
- Experience producing reports and delivering insight to guide decision making.
- Strong understanding of sales support processes, tender coordination, customer onboarding and deal execution.
- Familiarity with credit assessment processes and customer lifecycle tools, including CRM and ERP systems, is preferred.
- Understanding of the UK energy market and its commercial dynamics.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing multiple stakeholder needs in a dynamic environment.
- Process-oriented, organised and confident driving structure and consistency in fast-paced settings.
- Proactive, resourceful and enthusiastic about improving customer journeys and internal performance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence presenting to stakeholders and managing team performance.
- Skilled at using data and reporting tools to measure performance and identify trends or risks.
