SALES SUPPORT OFFICER

Department: Sales

Location: Modplan Limited – Office Based

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reporting To: Head of Sales

Job Purpose

Modplan is looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Sales Support Officer to join our busy Sales team.

The Sales Support Officer will provide a key internal support function for our external Sales team, helping them manage customer and prospect requirements efficiently and professionally.

The role will involve preparing quotations, processing orders and samples, providing customers and prospects with key product and commercial information, and ensuring our external Sales team has the internal support needed to develop both existing and new business opportunities.

Previous experience within the window and door industry, particularly processing window and door quotations and orders, would be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day internal support to the external Sales team and their customer accounts.
  • Prepare accurate quotations for existing customers and new business prospects.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using Modplan's internal systems.
  • Check orders to ensure specifications, pricing and customer requirements are correct before processing.
  • Respond to customer and prospect enquiries by telephone and email.
  • Provide customers and prospects with relevant product information, pricing, literature, samples and other information required to support sales opportunities.
  • Follow up quotations, enquiries and opportunities where required.
  • Process and coordinate customer and prospect sample requests.
  • Support the external Sales team with information required ahead of and following customer meetings.
  • Maintain accurate customer, prospect, quotation and order records.
  • Liaise with Production, Technical, Purchasing and other departments to obtain information and resolve customer or order queries.
  • Ensure the external Sales team is kept informed of important customer enquiries, quotations, orders and opportunities.
  • Provide general sales administration and commercial support as required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience within sales administration, sales support, order processing or customer service.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident communicating with customers and prospects by telephone and email.
  • Ability to prepare quotations and process information accurately.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
  • A proactive, commercially minded and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work closely with both office-based and external colleagues.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within the window and door industry would be a significant advantage.
  • Experience processing uPVC window and door quotations and orders.
  • Knowledge of window and door products, specifications, profiles, glass and hardware.
  • Experience using window and door quotation/order processing software or similar bespoke systems.
  • Previous experience supporting an external sales team within a manufacturing or building-products business.
