We are working with a growing global technology and engineering business that is looking for a Sales Support professional to join its team in Reading.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service, sales administration or order management experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and supporting both customers and sales teams.

You will play an important role in managing customer enquiries, processing orders and providing day-to-day support to the sales function, helping to deliver an excellent customer experience and maximise sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming customer calls, emails and other enquiries.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to customer queries and provide updates on orders.
  • Manage incoming sales enquiries and progress opportunities through to order wherever possible.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Review pending orders and follow up on outstanding customer requirements.
  • Manage customer accounts and provide administrative and troubleshooting support.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Sales Managers and Key Account Managers.
  • Proactively follow up with customers regarding repeat orders and ongoing projects.
  • Maintain accurate customer and project information.
  • Provide accurate sales/project forecasts based on available information.
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider sales team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient customer support function.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working to deadlines.
  • Professional, adaptable and confident dealing with customers.
  • A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Proactive and commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities to progress enquiries into orders.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general business systems.

Previous experience in Sales Support, Customer Service, Sales Administration, Order Processing, Account Administration or a similar role would be highly beneficial.

Experience with SAP and/or Salesforce would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.

Language Skills

  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Additional European language skills, particularly French, Italian or German, are highly desirable and may be essential depending on the customer portfolio.
